09.01.2022 Now that COVID-19 restrictions are relaxing, Darwin Camera Club will be starting up again - but we thought we would take this opportunity to change the format a bit. Time to spend less time inside talking and more time outside photographing! So, going forward we will be reducing our 1st Wednesday of the month evening meetings to every second month, and adding a photographic outing the first Sunday of the in between months. What that means for the rest of 2020 is: Sunday 7 ...June - outing to George Brown Botanical Gardens Wed 1 July - Club night at 96A Winnellie Road Sunday 2 August - outing Wed 2 September - Club night at 96A Winnellie Road Sunday 4 October - outing Wed 4 November - Club night Sunday 6 December - Christmas party More details will follow as we finalise planning. Outings and club nights will be put up as Facebook events and details will be emailed to financial members. Have an idea for an outing or topic you would like covered? Send us a message - we welcome your suggestions. Not a member? No problem you are always welcome to come along to our meetings and events. If you want more information about membership send us a message. If you have any questions about the new format please feel free to contact a committee member. We will be checking in with members at the end of the year so you can help us decide if we keep the new format for 2021. We will also schedule a belated AGM later in the year. Hope to see you all soon. Thanks - The Committee

05.01.2022 This is an opportunity not too be missed, something for everyone and everyone is welcome to join in.
03.01.2022 With the world in turmoil, its nice to know that some things never change: like the beauty of a polar night sky. Will Kenton is a fitter and turner at Davis re...search station in east #Antarctica. On the night of 27 March, in temperatures around minus 20 degrees C, he trained his camera skywards at the #southernlights for more than seven hours. "I recently built a heavy duty tripod out of recycled aluminium found on station," Will says, as my current tripod is too light and blew over last time I attempted to set up over a longer period. Hopefully I'll have some clear skies for the weekend, and Ill try and get a full eight hours of darkness on the move. W.Kenton Aurora Australis Tasmania
02.01.2022 Hope this brings a smile to you :)
