25.01.2022 I will be at the Canine Expo shows at the weekend, so if you have any Royal questions please just grab me

24.01.2022 Just a heads-up due to the proximity of the airport to the showgrounds. Exercise Pitch Black 2018 is from 27 July to 17 August 2018. https://www.airforce.gov.au/news-an//exercises/pitch-black

24.01.2022 Many thanks to Peter and the amazing promo crew, plus gorgeous Denver

24.01.2022 Reminder: Baby Puppy and Trial entries close on Friday this week. No entries will be accepted after Friday 5 July. Please contact [email protected] with any questions

23.01.2022 Unofficial website is being updated this week, just need to log last of the paperwork with the RAS of the NT

22.01.2022 Another Show done and dusted in this our Year of the Dog. Some lucky pooches got to try out Pam Hamills Year of the Dog cookies. Thank you Pam. Sincere thanks to the judges Cheryl Bedggood from WA and Glenys Alexander from Victoria from the Trial and Show rings respectively. I had the added delight of hosting Glenys through the weekend what a hoot and I had so much fun. The informal meet and greet lunch today was a much appreciated bonus. The section managers that assi...sted with the preparation and running of the event are also appreciated Sue, Reg, Klayton and Chavonne, plus their many volunteers. In the Show ring I always appreciate the outstanding work of Carol, Mel and Meg. The Royal also assisted hosting James Patchett from Victoria. This was a result of the Palmerston Gundog Club collaboration with the running of handler competitions on Friday evening to support the Juniors. The well-received event also saw the unlikely, and probably never to be seen again, occasion of the Show Manager out there handling a dog. This year was a small entry, but there was a fabulous atmosphere in the Rink Van der Velde dog Arena and it was particularly noted the number of exhibitors that stood up to assist their fellow competitors. Results should be in the RASNT office Monday afternoon and a full marked catalogue should be online on Tuesday. I have taken on board some of the feedback already received, i.e. issues with the schedules, the back gate, lack of grandstands, no microphones, etc. Some other issues were also mentioned to me secondhand, however have not been formally reported. If you have any issues can you please write to me via email at [email protected]

22.01.2022 Another reminder that the Baby Puppy Class also closes on 5 July 2019. The Show Manager loves all baby puppies and wants to give them the best opportunity to have all paperwork sorted with the relevant canine controls, either here or interstate.

21.01.2022 Show and Trial schedules have been updated and linked at: http://royal.k9territory.com/ They should also be advertised on Show Manager soon. Further details on RASNT Membership will also be coming as soon as the official Darwin Show website is updated. Any enquiries can be directed to [email protected], but it is recommended that the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page is checked first.

21.01.2022 Results coming soon. Photos are being added at: https://darwinphotographyprofessionals.zenfolio.com/royal_d Many thanks to Caroline and Amanda

20.01.2022 Results for the Show are updated. Full catalogue will be uploaded as one PDF document once the Trial component is checked. If you notice any errors please contact me at [email protected] - http://royal.k9territory.com/18results.html

19.01.2022 With special thanks to DogsNT Councillors for providing dispensation for Baby Puppy entries for the Darwin Royal. The new closing date for Baby Puppy entries is 7 July 2018 as long as they abide by the rule pertaining to being fully registered prior to close of entry, i.e. confirmed name and registration number, as per an ANKC Member Body. If you require clarification in meeting this rule please contact [email protected] - no exemptions will be considered beyond this date.

18.01.2022 Darwin Royal 2020 proposed show judging order: Thursday 23 July: Groups 5 and 2 Friday 24 July: Groups 7, 1 and 3 Saturday 25 July: Groups 4 and 6 followed by General Specials... Trial order to be confirmed.

15.01.2022 Having a few issues with my domain, but the preliminary marked catalogue has been uploaded to https://showmanager.com.au/ - please note the results are still to be ratified by the Show Advisory and Trial Advisory committees. Give me a yell if anything does not look correct.

14.01.2022 2019 dates and judging order details are commenced on: http://royal.k9territory.com/ - much work still to be done.

13.01.2022 Reminder to those that have their memberships marked as Hold for Collection that it would be best to call into the office this week. Next week the RASNT office will be inundated with stall holders, etc

12.01.2022 The Trial ring in 2019 will be welcoming: Neville Cox (S) for Agility and Jumping; plus Gloria Page (NT) for Obedience and RallyO classes.... Every judge for the Darwin Royal is special, however it is with honour that we recognise Gloria Page with this appointment. Her dedication to the Dog World in both the Show and Trial arenas, here and overseas, is distinguished.

11.01.2022 Even having the later closing date is still stressful. I am feeling the pain with some of you. Reminder 5pm tomorrow!

10.01.2022 All quiet in the Dog Area, for now LOL

10.01.2022 A heads up that only RASNT members will be able to access the Members car park and therefore into the Dog Area for drop off and pick up. The new membership cards have scannable codes. We are hoping to have a dropoff zone adjacent to the Members car park gate for non-members. I will try to catch up with as many people as possible at the SDHC weekend beforehand. Any queries in the interim please contact me at [email protected]

10.01.2022 With sincere thanks to TAC, SAC, TDW and the office for their assistance over recent months. It takes a combined effort. The Circuit website should be updated over the weekend.

09.01.2022 REMINDER: Baby Puppy and Trial entries close on Friday 5 July. It would be useful if people still to enter these classes could contact me on [email protected] and also indicate whether you intend entering via ShowManager or via paper entries. This way I can alert the RASNT office to expect your entries. Entries past this date cannot be accepted.

09.01.2022 The big shade is down and the grounds are just about back to normal, ready for training this week and Canine Expo next weekend. My sincere thanks to all for another successful Royal. Special thanks to our judges, Peter Primrose in the Show ring plus Gloria Page and Neville Cox in the Trial ring. Generous sponsors Wayne and Linda from Moorholme Pet Transport were great company throughout. Section Managers Chavonne, Klayton and Sue and their volunteers were wonderful in ensur...ing handlers across both rings were given a fair go. The team in the Show ring also worked hard and kept me entertained. Thank you Mel, Meg, Carol and Lynelle. Also thanks to the DogsNT reps, Reg and Marlene. The grounds looked great, largely through the efforts of the DogsNT Grounds sub-committee and volunteers such as Allan and Tony for their finishing touches. Huge thanks to DODC and FPPDTC for the loan of trial equipment plus DLKC for their loaned equipment. The microphones in particular were very much appreciated across both rings. Post-show paperwork and results are being completed, so onward! Planning has already started for 2020.

08.01.2022 The Show ring in 2019, for all breeds, Group and General Specials will be welcoming Peter Primrose from Western Australia. Details have been updated at: http://royal.k9territory.com/ Many thanks for your patience. The RASNT has been working on the online entry format with: https://showmanager.com.au/ - coming soon

08.01.2022 Absolutely delighted and excited to have onboard Moorholme Pet Transport as sponsors of the 2019 Darwin Royal Dog Section. Huge thanks to Wayne and the team at Moorholme. This sponsorship has also provided the opportunity to run a Junior Handlers class at the Royal. Further details to follow once approval has been granted. We are working on it

07.01.2022 Important Notice Events scheduled to be held at the Darwin Showgrounds are cancelled or deferred until advised otherwise this decision is in line with guidelines and advice from the relevant authorities. This means the annual Royal Darwin Show scheduled for the fourth weekend in July will not go ahead for 2020. This is sad news for both the RAS Society and the community as we have been celebrating the Darwin Show for almost 70 years however our prime concern is the health... and wellbeing of our staff, volunteers, members, clubs and associations and all those normally involved including the wider general community. We are currently working through the process of contacting the many stakeholders who are normally involved in the Darwin Show with this advice. Our office is currently operating though access to the showgrounds is restricted. Enquiries may be made via telephone and email. Stay safe everyone. 07.01.2022 A reminder that Trial classes have an official closing date of 5 July 2019. Good luck to all triallers working with their dogs over the next few weekends.

05.01.2022 A project that I have been working on for a while is the previous Darwin Royal winners. The scanned catalogues are only from 1994, but previous results came from some work a long time go in the icky, sticky backroom. Finally had the time to organise the scanned results into an archives file: http://royal.k9territory.com/archives.html

05.01.2022 *yawns, and awakes from a big sleep* Ha! Just kidding. I am amazingly proud of the amount of work done by a huge number of people over the months since the last show. Details coming soon.

05.01.2022 I will be catching up with non-Members this weekend to hand out collect passes for the Show. A reminder to those visitors that have marked their RASNT memberships as HOLD. It would be a good idea to try and get into the RASNT office this week as next week is bedlam. The office is on the ground floor of the Foskey Pavilion in the showgrounds.

05.01.2022 The official notice about the 2020 Royal Darwin Show is on the official website: https://darwinshow.com.au/

04.01.2022 All passes are being scanned at the Shean Road gate. Please allow time to get into the showgrounds. Only vehicles with Members Car Parking stickers will be allowed to progress past the Shean Road gate. Security are doing their job.

04.01.2022 Onward and upward - and already planning for 2021. Darwin Royal 2021 proposed show judging order: Thursday 22 July: Groups 5 and 2 Friday 23 July: Groups 7, 1 and 3... Saturday 24 July: Groups 4 and 6 followed by General Specials Trial order to be confirmed. See more

04.01.2022 The fruit of choice for the 2019 Darwin Royal was ..... tangello!!

02.01.2022 Catalogue prepared over the weekend. If you have not had an acknowledgement email from me then please be worried and contact me asap. Now on to preparing passes to be sent to non-Members. For those people entered in the Show Dog Handlers Club shows I will catch up with you the weekend before the Royal. For triallers I hope to catch up with you at Fred's Pass. Emails will be sent as to when I hope to catch up with you.

01.01.2022 The NT Circuit involves a lot of work and planning. Preliminary details purely based on 2018 details are at: http://circuit.k9territory.com/ - the weekends are correct, however final details still need to be confirmed. Much love to Erica from Alice Springs. The Alice Springs team are already working on this as well :-)
