24.01.2022 Removed this hive from a couples wall yesterday. This is hive number 2 of 3 we are removing. The couple are going to keep this hive but the hive from last week that was in the dartboard we have taken away. You can see that video from last week. This is a 5 min video for those interested. Keep an eye out for next week as I am hoping to work on the 3rd hive next weekend. Enjoy!

24.01.2022 Doing the rounds of my hives this morning and found one of them in the midst of a mating swarm! Slow motion video shows the chaos of the swarm. The difference between the mating swarm and the fighting swarm is there are no grappling bees on the ground killing each other (View my last post to see a fighting swarm). Also this hive is on the other side of my house to the nearest hive so unlikely to ever have a fighting swarm.

20.01.2022 I placed this resin and propolis packed piece from my last hive recovery near the hives I have at home to give some resources. It has taken 2 weeks to notice but they are now at it!

17.01.2022 Checked out Barry Conde Native bee collection a few weekends ago and to our surprise we found a newly colonised bee box he had sitting around ready to go! He knew there was some activity but we didn’t expect the growing brood inside!

17.01.2022 Hi all I found an interesting event yesterday. This is a fighting swarm. I was just passing by when my apprentice Ethan saw the bees swarming. Its 2 hives built in the same brick wall about 600mm apart from each other. I imagine it would happen often for these 2 hives being so close together.

14.01.2022 This page is to let the community of Darwin know that instead of calling the pest man to eradicate these gems of the insect world you can call or message me and I will remove or rescue them with out any fees.

10.01.2022 They can build anywhere it seams! Long video, but some good info if anyone is interested. Big thanks to Joe and Nadia for the call. They have a total of 3 hives, 2 more hives in the wall of their home which we will attempt to recover into hive boxes soon. Keep an eye out for the next chapter.

05.01.2022 This is the Asian Honey Bee (Apis Cerana) which is considered a pest bee in Australia. I have filmed this slow motion video of some working the sunflower garden at Changi Airport in Singapore. Looks so similar to the European Honey Bee (Apis Mellifera) but is about 3/4s the size and seems to be a bit swifter in its flight. If you find any bees like this one in Australia be sure to contact the local or state departments that deal with unwanted species.

03.01.2022 Hi everybody, rescued a T. Hockingsi nest from a Telstra pit while on holidays in Brisbane. Hope you enjoy the size of this nest compared to our more common T.Mellipies. Enjoy the video and please dont FORGET... Please like and share to get the word out someone is taking care of these important insects!

03.01.2022 Hi all we don't only remove and rescue native bees, but I will also do honey bee removals. The inner suburbs of Darwin appear to have many of these such hives. Let me know if you have or know someone who has any kind of bee problem.

01.01.2022 Job done - New hive box in place of a rescue. Ready for pick up tonight when the foragers return for the night. Big thanks to ASSET PROTECTION MOB for the rescue. Facebook: Asset Protection Mob - Pest Managment
