15.01.2022 The #KangarooIsland bushfires (as well those around the country) have wreaked havoc for many this Christmas, but thanks to the tireless efforts of the tenacious volunteer firefighters and local CFS crews we can count ourselves as one of the lucky ones. @topdeckatsnelling escaped unscathed and is still fully operational but our hearts go out to our friends and neighbours who havent been so fortunate. Due to the fires weve had some last minute cancellations so if anyone is looking for somewhere safe on the Island to holiday please take a look at our calendar for available dates. 02.01.2022 Why Topdeck? In 2018 a bushfire ripped through Middle River blackening approximately 370 hectares. Thankfully no one was hurt and no homes were lost but you will still see the impact of the fires around the area today. We took ownership of our block the same day the fires were extinguished by the team of brave local farmers and firies. With one half of our land charred and the other half spared by the flames, it was hard not to see its resemblance to a block of Cadbury Topdeck chocolate. The nickname stuck with us throughout the build and became even more fitting once the finished house and deck sat hovering over the top of the hillside and river. #topdeckatsnelling #middleriver #snellingbeach #kangarooisland #authentickangarooisland #southaustralia
