21.01.2022 You wouldn’t credit it...the one thing I forgot to pack for my trip to Uluru & surrounds, was a palette knife...but an old credit card is just as good in making marks on canvas to replicate some of the scenery here. 20.01.2022 These are the entries (so far) in the Kiss Challenge - to take a photo based on my painting of lovers under an umbrella. 20.01.2022 It was almost 30 years ago that I helped put together a book called Two To The Valley. I took the photos of the people and characters of fortitude Valley at a time when it was changing dramatically. Today I received a visit from a man who was just 11 years old when I photographed him. He arrived on my doorstep and said I became a photographer because of your book. I was deeply moved The book went on to win awards nationally and internationally. Young Michael Waldron ...is now a fantastic photographer specialising in architecture, mostly black-and-white just like the book! Check out his photos Insta: @michael_waldron80 The photos taken from the book of (Michael are photos of printed photos, so the quality isnt really great.)

20.01.2022 Question: what to do when a mild cold means you have to cancel your walk Sunday morning with friends as well as lunch with your family? Answer: make a rock garden bed in your backyard and with whatever time you have over (approx six hours) finish a painting . That was my Sunday. Annoyed I couldnt catch up with family and friends but satisfied I hadnt wasted the day with, you knowRELAXING!... Now, what to plant in the rest of this little garden bed... 15.01.2022 I have a sort of possum problem Not possums in my roof. Possums in my lounge room...big, beautiful paintings by the famously talented Possum family Clifford and daughters Gabrielle and Michelle. The top two are going next week to the Queensland Performing Arts Centre on indefinite, free loan joining a dozen other paintings Ive lent them. Im waiting on other institutions to get back to advise if they will accept my offer of up to 200 paintings from my collection... including the Clifford Possum painting below. I never realised how hard it would be to lend big public institutions such beautiful paintings. Sadly, Brisbane City Council has said no. Check out my Indigenous Collection www.indigart.com.au/

15.01.2022 Said goodbye to these not-so-little babies as they head to the Queensland Performing Arts Centre today. 07.01.2022 These are the WINNERSin the Kiss Challenge (the Challenge was to take a photo based on my painting of lovers under an umbrella). Some took photos of themselves (garden hoses used for rain!), photographed their kids and even took photos of mannequins and vegetables (remember the famous $100,000 banana taped to a gallery wall?). Im afraid 3 were disqualified by our international jury as they were family members (Aunty Jood and her mate Bradley Pitt, Cousin Tania and ...her amazing performing vegetables and Cousin Dee who produced those sexy mannequins). So, that left Lynette Trinder, Renee Coffey (both of whom talked their partners into posing) and Nikki Midgley (who cajoled her daughters into performing)! And the winner is... ALL THREE non-relatives! Yes its a tie for first place with Lynette, Renee and Nikki each receiving a small Hinchy painting. I will message you 3 with the 3 painting prizes during the week. The first person to reply gets first choice. As for my relatives who entered, well you deserve one of my paintings too. Ill have them with me when I see you next!
