14.01.2022 { Humans of DW - Introducing David Wallis!} The face behind the name; our very own David Wallis. It is rare to have all our team together, so following our training morning, this smile could not have been any wider! That is the smile of a man who is very proud of his teams, their passion, vision and dedication. Thanks for all you do to support, mentor and guide us David.

11.01.2022 E Q U I T Y Our Support Workers seek out, create and advocate for inclusive pathways so the same opportunities are available for ALL; both our participants and the community at large. Equity Matters.

11.01.2022 ? World Kindness Day is designed to inspire individuals, and connect nations, to create a kinder world. What could you do to be kind to your community today? Some simple ideas include:... * Hold the lift door open for someone * Pay it forward on a cup of coffee * Mow your neighbour's nature strip or yard * Make a donation to a charity * Smile at the person serving you * Bring in your neighbour's wheelie bins * Give a box of chocolates to your local community centre. Let us know if you have any other ideas to help spread kindness in our community! For more information go to: https://www.theworldkindnessmovement.org/

09.01.2022 We've asked our team a bunch of questions and their responses are in. So, time for a game! We asked our team "How did you come to work with the DW team?"... ~ I had previously been in the hospitality industry ~ I have worked in the industry for many years in similar case management roles ~ A friend of mine put me onto the position ~ I have a background in the Navy ~ A friend of mine put me in touch with David and I haven’t looked back! ~ I met Dave when consulting on teaching Auslan to one of my clients ~ We met in my first year at Hogwarts So which answers came from our team? Over to you! See if you can pick the truths from the statements above and let us know what you think in the comments below.

08.01.2022 S P A C E Can I play too? Maybe we could learn a little from our kids. There is SPACE for all in our community. Everyone has value and can contribute.

08.01.2022 M O V E M B E R This is your friendly reminder for a conversation starter! If 2020 has taught us anything, it's to keep finding ways to better one's mental health. In light of this, it's officially Movember , so grow a Mo, or donate, but most importantly - ask the question - R U OK?

04.01.2022 { HUMANS OF DW - Amy, Quality Assurance Coordinator } We welcome Amy to the DW team! Currently studying community services driven by her passion for child welfare, Amy has extensive experience in customer service, administration, coordinating events, management, life coaching and running her own business. Growing up on farms in the Northern Rivers, she recently moved to Toowoomba for the more relaxed country lifestyle. Amy's spare time find her spending time with friends and family, being creative with photography and art, or out exploring, travelling, camping, and enjoying life with her dog, Poppy. We are so excited to have Amy bringing her experience and energy to the DW team!
