23.01.2022 The XI-CLEFT points characteristics: - They’re located on the limbs, and are where Qi & Blood accumulate and converge in the meridians. - Each of the 12 regular... meridians has a Xi-Cleft point, as do the Yin Wei, Yang Wei, Yin Qiao and Yang Qiao Meridians, 16 in all. - They treat acute disorders. The Yin points alleviate acute bleeding disorders, and the Yang points relieve acute pain. - They can also help diagnose, when palpating these points. If they are tender, the meridian is affected. For example, if ST 34 is very tender to the touch, there is stomach issues. #AcupunctureRocks If you like this graphic, check out my AcuPoints Made Easy Book (an illustrated guide for acupuncture points) here: https://bit.ly/2XdY4Zs

10.01.2022 From 11:59pm, we're taking some big steps in reopening our state. I've listed some of the changes below. I also wanted to say thank you. ... Nothing about this year has been easy. Victorians and Melburnians especially have sacrificed so much and done it so tough. And this success really does belong to you.

07.01.2022 This is a late one, but I wanted to give everyone an update on what's happening and what will change as a result. As you may be aware, our public health team ...have tonight been notified that a Hotel Quarantine staff member has tested positive. This individual last worked at the Grand Hyatt Hotel on 29 January and was tested at the end of their shift, returning a negative result. In the days following his last shift, he developed symptoms and got tested, returning a positive result late today. As a result of this development, we're contacting all Australian Open players, officials and support staff who stayed at the Grand Hyatt. They're being classified as casual contacts and are required to immediately get tested and isolate. We're also contacting all staff at the hotel who've been identified as primary close contacts. They'll need to get tested and isolate for 14 days. A number of exposure sites have also been identified, with more likely to be added tonight and tomorrow. I'll add a link below and if you've been to any of these locations, you need to get tested and isolate at home for 14 days. I know this is not the news we wanted but it's what we do next that matters most. From 11:59pm tonight, masks will again be mandatory indoors in shops, in workplaces, anywhere this virus has a greater potential to spread. The private gathering limit will also reduce from 30 to 15. As previously, that means a maximum of 15 guests in your home, not including babies under 12 months. We'll also press pause on the scheduled increase to the number of people working in offices, with the current cap of 50 per cent to remain in place. We'll also be opening testing sites in our city's south-east early tomorrow morning. Extra lanes will open for drive-through testing sites and Rapid Response Team sites will also be set up in local locations. If you have symptoms even if you've been nowhere near an exposure site please, please get tested. You'll be helping to keep your loved ones and every Victorian safe. I know this news might make people anxious or worried about what comes next. But this is one case. And as we've seen before, Victorians know how to rise to the challenge. We've done this before - and we will do it again. Let's all play our part, and get through this together.

07.01.2022 I know lots of people have been waiting for this one but I'll try and keep it short so you can get back to enjoying your Sunday. From 11.59pm tonight, the 25k...m travel limit comes off in metro Melbourne. The boundary between city and country falls away. Our state will be whole. Our families will be together again. These decisions were unprecedented. We've never had to create a border within a state or ask people to stay so close to home. It's created so many implications for so many Victorians and I haven't for a second underestimated how difficult that's been. In such a hard year, time seems more precious and absence is felt even more keenly. My family's lived that too. But the experts and the data told us it was the right move, the only move, at that point in time. Now that same expert health advice confirms we can safely remove these limitations. At the same time, we can make some further changes to bring metro Melbourne into line with regional areas. Pubs and restaurants can seat more people, indoor sport can resume for 18 and unders, the numbers at funerals and religious gatherings can increase and yes, gyms can reopen. And we're moving forward the reopening of indoor venues, with strict density limits including museums, galleries and movie theatres. Having a loved one ill in hospital is never easy let alone during a pandemic. But we're now able to relax some of the restrictions around visiting hospitals and aged care. Instead of a specific number, a household will be able to visit together including under 16s. And the time limit for partners visiting maternity wards will no longer exist. I'm also pleased to confirm that the whole of Victoria will move to the Last Step at 11.59pm on 22 November. I'll put all the details of what that looks like in the comments. I'm so proud that as a state, we haven't just settled for 'close enough is good enough'. Victorians didn't chuck in the towel when things got tough. We persevered and persisted. We trusted the science and now we are the envy of much of the world. But and it's a big but we can't get complacent. I don't want to rain on what is a day for celebration, but this isn't over just yet. Nine days of zero cases is not a vaccine. It puts us in a very strong position, and every single Victorian should be exceptionally proud of what we've achieved. But now we have to protect it. We've come so far by sticking together. Let's keep going. Keep making good choices. And stay safe.

06.01.2022 Acupuncture: An Overview of Scientific Evidence Evidence Based Acupuncture Acupuncture enjoys moderate to strong evidence of effectiveness in the treatment of... 46 conditions and is considered safe in the hands of properly trained practitioners. This strong scientific support is impressive and helpful for patients in the context of a conventional healthcare system where nearly half of all treatments lack evidence for their use. Acupuncture is also considered cost-effective for a number of conditions where evidence is available. Comparatively, for many conditions it enjoys greater evidence than many conventional treatments and is relatively safer. Patients, medical professionals, and healthcare administrators can be confident that the recommendation of acupuncture for many patients is a safe, cost-effective, and evidence-based recommendation.

03.01.2022 I know everyone’s hanging out for this one so I’ll cut to the chase. Victoria will move to the Last Step from 11.59pm tonight. That’ll mean more people can get ...together 15 visitors to your home and 50 outdoors in a public place. Numbers at gyms will increase to 150 with group limits of 20 and venue density limits. Hospitality also increases to 150 inside for larger venues and 50 for smaller ones with density limits based on their size. Up to 150 people can attend weddings and funerals. And the number caps will be increased for other venues community centres, galleries, museums and more. I'll put all the details in the comments. There will be a staged return to offices for staff who've spent the past six+ months in Zoom meetings too with up to 25 per cent able to come back onsite at any one time. Everyone else will need to keep working from home. We’re also changing the rules around masks. They’ll still be mandatory indoors and on PT but you won’t need one outside, so long as you’re able to keep a safe distance from others. To put it into context, that means wearing a mask if you’re at a busy outdoor market or event but not if you’re out walking the dog. You'll need to carry a mask at all times for when it's required. I’m sure some people think everything should be thrown open completely now that we’ve gone three weeks without a case. But that’s precisely the point. We’ve only got to zero cases because of masks and distancing and everyone playing their part. Keeping these protections around a bit longer means that if we were to get a case, the risk of it spreading faster and wider will be much lower. And most Victorians would agree it’s a relatively small imposition for a potentially huge benefit. Just finally, to everyone looking ahead to Christmas and planning how many seats at the lunch table you'll be able to have 30 visitors at home, including kids. We'll have more to say on other settings soon, based on the latest public health advice. This has been a year like no other and one most of us would probably rather forget. Victorians have sacrificed so much and done it so tough. But even in the darkest of winter days, we stuck together and supported each other. And for that I am so grateful and so very proud.

03.01.2022 Morning everyone. Just wanted to update you on last nights meeting of National Cabinet and what it means for our state. I know the majority of Victorians are d...oing the right thing by staying home but were still seeing groups of people meeting up and carrying on as normal. This cannot continue. So from 11.59pm tonight, Victoria will introduce Stage 3 restrictions. Under these measures, there will only be four reasons to leave your house. For food and supplies. For exercise. For medical care. And for work and education if necessary. And just so were clear: getting some exercise means going for a walk round the block or a bike ride to stretch your legs and get some fresh air. It means staying local not driving for miles or being out all day. Weve also closed skate parks, outdoor gyms and playgrounds. I know this will be tough especially on parents with little ones but we simply cant have people congregating in these areas. Under Stage 3, gatherings of more than two people will be off limits. That doesnt mean you should think "Great, I still have one mate round for beers at home and thats OK." Its really not. I know its hard not to see friends. I know its hard to be stuck at home all day. And I know this will ask a lot of Victorians. But we all need to be prepared and be patient because what we do now will literally save lives. There are thousands of Victorians on the front line of this pandemic. Doctors and nurses. Paramedics. Supermarket workers and delivery drivers. The Victorians driving our trams and trains and buses. The cleaners making sure our state is safe and hygienic. The scientists and researchers developing a vaccine. But the rest of us have an important job to do too. Its our role to help slow the spread of this virus so that fewer Victorians end up in intensive care. Its up to us to stop our health system from being overwhelmed. And the best way to do that is to stay home. I cant be much clearer than that. Ill be providing regular updates over the next couple of days, but in the meantime please remember this: Its one thing to thank our frontline workers and tell them how much they mean to us. But the real test is in our actions. If you value the hours and the effort theyre putting in to keep us all safe: Stay home. Protect our health system. Save lives.
