18.01.2022 Term 4 BBSSSA Sport In addition to new challenges, 2020 has also created opportunities for new experiences for our students. Due to covid-19 restrictions in Term 3, the Broken Bay Secondary Schools Sports Association (BBSSSA) created a temporary new ‘inter-zone’ sporting competition to ensure that our students continue to enjoy the chance to compete in inter school sport. All Broken Bay Diocesan Secondary Schools and a number of congregational schools are currently competing ...in eight competitions, with regular central coast based matches and Sydney based fixtures. At the end of the rounds inter zone playoffs will take place to determine overall BBSSSA champions. The schools involved are Central Coast Zone - St Brigid’s Catholic College Lake Munmorah; MacKillop Catholic College, Warnervale; St Peter’s Catholic College, Tuggerah; St Edwards College, East Gosford; St Joseph’s Catholic College, East Gosford; Sydney Zone - Mater Maria Catholic College, Warriewood; St Augustine’s College, Brookvale; St Paul’s Catholic College, Manly; Stella Maris College, Manly; Mercy Catholic College, Chatswood; St Leo’s Catholic College, Wahroonga. The success of this new structure is due to the dedication and commitment of our wonderful school sports coordinators who have ensured that Covid safety measures have been implemented and have spent extra hours selecting and preparing their teams, venues and officials. It has been great to see our students back in action, enjoying their sport and continuing to be exposed to the many learning opportunities that competitive sport can provide.
