25.01.2022 How do you treat your inner self? It is really easing to betray ourselves through negative self-talk. It is a learnt coping mechanism, that we must betray ourselves in order to gain love and approval. Then, we feel shame because we dont know there are other way of existing. Do you see the spiralling effect of our not appreciating ourselves for who we are?? So... how do we transition towards self healing? ... Self care! & being aware of how we are treating ourselves, our mind With Womens Health Week in full swing, here are some self-care tips from Womens Health Mag: https://www.womenshealthmag.com//a/self-care-routine-tips/

23.01.2022 Today is World Suicide Prevention Day - a day to reach out to those around you and ask R U OK? This year has been a really tough year for many. And you dont need to be an expert to reach out and show someone you are here for them - just be a good friend and a great listener. DBCYP are sharing other ways to check in with those around you and ask "are you okay?"... What are you doing today? ... What are you watching/reading? Want to do a Facetime dinner later? How are you taking care of yourself today? What places are you looking forward to visiting once the pandemic is over? What time of the day/week are the hardest? Hows everything coming together? What are some things you have done since we last talked? Anything interesting happening lately? Is anything on your mind? Tips for opening up a conversation: When you talk to your friend or loved one, listen for signs of distress Reassure the person, that you are asking from a place of real concern. If the person doesnt want to engage, respect their decision. Make sure youre also at a health place to be present and engaging with someone who is struggling. Ask open-ended, non-judgemental questions Dont be pre-occupied with what to say in response. Let the conversation flow. Validate your loved ones struggles Dont set out to solve their problems Make a date to follow up if theyre interested Encourage them to reach out for extra support More helpful tips on having those difficult conversations and how to support someone in need: https://www.ruok.org.au/

10.01.2022 This is a really tricky form of anxiety as people who have it usually receive all sorts of compliments and external rewards! Its tricky because: 1) Positive social feedback encourages this anxious lifestyle 2) Its hard for people to recognise what hides behind the curtains of hard working, organised, super helpful, punctual and trustworthy people ... But what is the point of being successful if you do everything with these struggles? Here are some tips: Allow yourself to rest. You deserve it! Have tolerance for mistakes. We are not all perfect & you are not a robot! Allow yourself to be late a few minutes. The world will not collapse! Invest time in self care Say no a few times. It is not selfish, it is called boundaries Accept that you cant please everyone and not every criticism you get is true Have time for self-reflection Remember you shouldnt be perfect, to be worthy Image: @BlessingManifesting

09.01.2022 Jealousy is an emotion most of us have felt! It could be situational and mild, or it could be an overpowering feeling and shaping the way you feel about yourself and the world around. It can be exhausting and frightening if we let this emotion influence our relationships with yourself and with others. Regardless of how the feeling arrives, it is important for us to work through it. ... Jealousy in a relationship could look like: Feeling threatened by your partners new relationships Assuming things that arent happening Constantly looking for reassurance from your partner Trying to control your partners behaviour/social life Feeling insecure in what value you bring to the relationship Confusing fear of abandonment/rejection with intuition/trusting your gut
