The Diabetes Contraception and Pre-pregnancy Program (DCAPP) has been designed to develop a more integrated approach supporting all women of childbearing age who may have Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes as well as those who may be at risk of developing Diabetes. Having an understanding of the incidence and effects of diabetes across the various local government areas (LGAs) of South Western Sydney will help continue to define and design targeted interventions and policies that can positively impact on the way we manage diabetes into the future. The monograph provid...es an overview of baseline diabetes epidemiology across South Western Sydney LGAs, which is the region covered by South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) and South Western Sydney Primary Health Network (SWSPHN). It draws data from all relevant data sources including hospital data to provide a comprehensive overview of the current diabetes epidemiology across the seven LGAs.
