14.01.2022 Purple is the colour for International Womens Day which we will be celebrating at Ramahyuck with an afternoon tea at the main office at 117 Foster Street on Fri...day 6 March at 2.30pm. Wear something purple and join us to celebrate all the wonderful women in our community! This beautiful purple artwork was created by Trina Dalton-Oogjes, a proud Wadawurrung/Wathaurung woman for the Dhelk Dja: Safe Our Way framework. Trina’s painting centres around the eleven community Dhelk Dja Action Groups across Victoria, leading into a central gathering/yarning circle, empowering Aboriginal communities. Around the Action Groups are Aboriginal organisations/agencies, government departments and non-government agencies working together to address family violence. Bunjil the Creator oversees to empower strength and self-determination. Hand prints of the adults and children represent the family unit. The kangaroo and emu footprints represent partnership moving forward (kangaroos and emus only move forward).

14.01.2022 Lake Tyers State Park Access and Camping Strategy is now open for the final phase of community consultations and feedback! Shout out to you mob who have already... shared your views; we’re working with Parks Victoria to hear more voices but Covid-19 has made yarning circles tough at the moment. If you would like to have input into the plan you can head to https://engage.vic.gov.au/lake-tyers-strategy to have your say. If you would prefer to speak to someone directly with a phone call or video link-up, give Alice Pepper, our Community Engagement Co-ordinator a call on 5152 5100. Your Voice and input into this strategy are important and we would love to hear from you. 11.01.2022 **CANCELLATION OF SEVERE WEATHER WARNING** **THIS POST WILL NO LONGER BE UPDATED** SEVERE WEATHER WARNING - DAMAGING WINDS and HEAVY RAINFALL... Heavy rainfall is developing over North East Victoria - parts of East Gippsland, Northern Country and North Central Forecast Districts. Intense rainfall over bushfire-affected areas could cause flash-flooding and wash debris onto roads, making driving conditions very dangerous 10.15AM Thursday MAR 5 Weather information Heavy rainfall may lead to FLASH FLOODING over northeastern Victoria through to Thursday afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms are also possible, which may result in localised heavier falls for brief periods. DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60-70 km/h with gusts 90-100 km/h over elevated (above 1200m) parts of eastern Victoria are expected to ease throughout the afternoon. If intense rainfall occurs over bushfire-affected areas, large amounts of debris could be washed onto roads, making conditions dangerous for drivers. Locations which may be affected include Wodonga, Wangaratta, Corryong, Bright, Shepparton and Falls Creek. What you should do during severe weather Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks. Check that loose items such as outdoor settings, umbrellas and trampolines are safely secured and move vehicles under cover or away from trees. Stay indoors and away from windows. If outdoors, move to a safe place indoors. Stay away from trees, drains, gutters, creeks and waterways. If driving conditions are dangerous, safely pull over away from trees, drains, low-lying areas and floodwater. Avoid travel if possible. Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees. Stay away from fallen powerlines always assume they are live. --------------- If your life is at risk, call Triple Zero (000) immediately For emergency help in floods and storms, ring the SES on 132 500 Listen to your local ABC Radio station or stream online for the latest updates: https://ab.co/3aurc2n Bureau of Meteorology Warning: http://bit.ly/38f7mI2 If you're not sure what to do if a storm threatens, visit our website for advice. https://ab.co/2TZaYtc
