25.01.2022 Put up your hand if you've got an ecommerce biz and not enough time in the day? Feeling guilty about all the things you didn't get done that you know will make a difference? Fret no more! I've put together 6 ways you can save time (and money - because time is money!) in your ecommerce business. Get it at the link in profile.

25.01.2022 BRAINSTORMING SESSIONS: If you’re a small business owner, you’re probably feeling very overwhelmed, unsure about the future and probably quite alone. There’s still so much uncertainty with how all of this will play out, but there ARE ways you can adapt to this new normal - you just might need an outside perspective to help you see the forest for the trees. In a 30 minute brainstorming session, we can:... Brainstorm ways to remind your current customers you exist and that you need their support. Develop a plan for what the next 3-6 months will bring, including promotions, marketing opportunities and more. Talk about ways you can pivot your offer to something that will still provide tons of value for your customers so that when you CAN sell again, they are still around. Chat about what others in the industry are seeing so that you feel less alone. You can come to me with questions, or I can help guide you if you’re feeling so overwhelmed you don’t know where to start. Sessions will be conducted via video conference on Zoom (because social distancing, y’all!). Link in profile to book your spot. At this stage I'll be limiting these to 5 spots. --- Also hot tip - you're going to need amazing imagery to stand out amongst all this craziness, so hit up @__thelatest because she's the shiz. . .#qldbusiness #shopsmallAu #businessbusinessbusiness #girlbossau #womenhelpingwomen #business #businesschicks #womenwhohustle #australianbusiness #creativeentrepreneur #smallbusinessowner #marketingtips #smallbusinesstips #dreamersanddoers #brisbanebusiness #brisbanebusinesswomen #brisbanemarketing #shopsmall #shoplocal See more

23.01.2022 I love a sky-high Louboutin as much as the next girl, but dollars to donuts you’ll find me in sneakers 99.9% of the time. Why? Sneakers get the job done. They may not be as sexy as that red sole but, especially when it comes to making money, I’m all about working smarter, not sexier. I've shared 5 unsexy things you can do right now that will make a BIG difference to your online store. Get it at the link in profile!

21.01.2022 "The only known cure for Imposter Syndrome is doing the work." I heard this great quote on the Side Hustle Show podcast this week and it really resonated, especially with this crazy start to 2020 knocking me for six so far this year. It also reminded me of an eCommerce client I worked with last year who makes amazing jewels - but was second guessing her skills particularly in an international market. We brainstormed a list of people she'd love to have wear...ing her creations and together worked on the perfect pitch. The result? Girlboss herself, Sophia Amoruso wearing, loving and spruiking her gorgeous earrings. The take-away? Do the work and kick Imposter Syndrome to the curb. How do you work through your Imposter Syndrome? Does doing the work help you? See more

21.01.2022 We’re all craving connection (albeit not in the same room) in this super weird time and I wanted to do something to help business owners who aren’t quite sure how to really focus on online while markets and retail stores are closed or closing. I’ve started a group Instagram chat where we can talk, share advice and realize we’re not alone! If you want an invite, DM me and I’ll add you. #ecommerce #onlinemarketing #shopsmall #shoplocal

19.01.2022 My husband doesn't know about this, but I have an internet crush. Neil Patel is an online marketing expert and not one of those "online marketing experts" either. He's just written a great post on what the Coronavirus means for marketers and I love this line: "But what I’ve learned from going through two crashes (the dotcom crash in 2000 and the real estate crash in 2008) is that the best time to double down is when others are not. During an economic downt...urn, you’ll find that you will have less competition, which means it is easier and faster to get results, and in some cases, you’ll be able to get deals, such as a potential reduction in pay-per-click advertising." Will you be doubling down or backing off? #smallbusiness #shopsmall #ecommerce #marketingtips #marketingtrends Photo by the epically talented @__thelatest See more

19.01.2022 Globally, online shopping has increased by 6% during COVID, but we're certainly not pulling out our credit cards to stock up on party dresses. Want to know what we ARE shopping for (no prizes for guessing lounge wear, skincare and puzzles) and how to make the most of the opportunities? I wrote a blog post on 7 ways you can market to customers who are now shopping online. Link in profile!

17.01.2022 Think you need lots of Instagram followers to make consistent, daily sales in your online store? Without exception, every online store I've ever worked on (and I've grown some to 6 figure turnovers), has had a higher conversion rate from search engine and direct traffic than from social media. By no means should you be neglecting your socials but I want to challenge you to think about the ways you can put your eggs into more than Zuckerberg's basket. Think getting your site to run as fast as possible, creating content that's useful and relevant to your customers and asking for Google reviews at every possible opportunity. What about you? Do you think you need more fans and followers to be successful as an ecommerce store founder?

17.01.2022 PIVOT: After 6 (or is it 7?) years running Deane & Co, and 15 years as a marketer, it's time to double down on the things I love, and where I can help the most. What I do best is developing marketing plans and strategy. Moving forward, Deane & Co will be working exclusively with clients to create marketing plans that are step-by-step, simple to implement and results driven. You'll be able to access senior level advice for your marketing plan, then can impl...ement yourself, with your marketing team in-house or with a VA or freelancer. If you're in need of a marketing plan for your business that will give you the structure and direction you need, send me an email ([email protected]), DM me or visit the 'Work With Us' section on our website. Excited for this new chapter for Deane & Co + more exciting things on the way! Claire x See more

11.01.2022 I had a client whose dog ate better than she did. Not out of choice - it was because her brand new business just wasn't taking off and she didn't know what to do about it. We started off with monthly mentoring (and she worked her butt off during the rest of the month to implement) and scaled our working relationship to full service as the business grew. ... From the outside, this client probably looks like an overnight success story - she ended up generating half a million in revenue, but it wasn't until our 4th year of working together that we hit this milestone. Marketing is rarely the viral sensation we hear about on social media - it's consistently showing up that makes the biggest difference to businesses long term, but there ARE things you can do to beat the learning curve and get things right the first time. Seeking out the right advice, surrounding yourself with the best people, and knowing when you need to branch out beyond posting to Instagram can make all the difference. What's your biggest marketing challenge right now? What do you feel like you're missing when it comes to growing your business? See more

11.01.2022 What's that quote again? "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over again and expecting different results." Yep, cliche, but the thing is, if you're not getting results from your marketing, something needs to change. A therapist once told me that sometimes hard work doesn't cut it - working harder at something that's not working in the first place doesn't make sense. What DOES make sense is working smarter. If you keep doing what you're doing, you can only expect what you've got.

07.01.2022 "Retail behemoths had come to rely on the physics (how fast, how big and often how cheap) of their business, but underestimated the chemistry. To truly engage with people, there needs to be a connection, a resonance. A reason." Love this quote from Mary Portas' latest email (yep, I'm a closet Secret Shopper fan...). What's your reason? #onlineshopping #ecommercemarketing #smallbusiness #shopsmall

05.01.2022 I'm working on a bit of a brand zjoozh at the moment and part of the process is to document what I'm really good at. It's always hard to share the things you think you're good at publicly (why is that??) but I'm going to shout myself out here! I'm great at strategy, brainstorming ideas, putting together plans and looking at data to make decisions. Your turn! What are you great at in your business?

05.01.2022 Me, checking in on some of the cool people who've been inspiring me in this crazy ol' year so far: @mydailybusinesscoach - can't wait for her book to come out later this year! @amandagenther's course creator membership - learning lots for something launching in July!... @extraordinaryroutines is always amazing, inspiring and thoughtful and her podcast has been getting me through #iso! @everynightoftheweek's recipes have lifted my cooking game - anyone who knows me knows the kitchen is *not* my place, but her fast and loose approach always results in a winner! @___thelatest - fellow mama and masterminder, regular DM's checking in on how we're coping with quarantine have made all the difference! @crackerjacktoyshop keeping me in Sylvanian Families so I can get at least a little work done with a two year old in the background! Who's helping you stay sane at the moment? See more
