25.01.2022 - CORONAVIRUS MANDATORY LOCKDOWN WEEK 6 Dear Diary, 6 weeks.6 WEEKS! It feels a lot more like 6 months so much has changed: We’re selling tap beer into growlers... The menu has been altered for takeaway We’ve set up menu delivery The restaurant looks like a bottle-shop I’m sweeping the floor so much it’s reminding me of my McDonalds days And I’ve been having staffys by myself. I feel it is still too risky to assume restrictions will be lifted for us anytime soon, but I hear murmurings running about and we’re hopeful. Love, Debacle See more

Doesn’t apply to us yet but we hope that it leads to some upturn in business. That being said - places of worship can have 10 attendees.I wonder how difficult it is to start a religion??? ... - ALL HAIL THE GOD OF CRAFT BEER! - In all seriousness however, we remain patient and hopeful that we will be able to extend our full hospitality to people again soon. 22.01.2022 CORONAVIRUS MANDATORY LOCKDOWN WEEK 10 Dear Diary, This could be the last time I need to write to you Restrictions are being lifted gradually and things are (slowly) returning to normal.... You have been a great listener over the past 2 months, but Diary, I think I may have shared too much! I admit I went a tad loopy there for a while but the important thing is we can see the light at the end of the tunnel and thanks to the amazing support we’ve received; Debacle has survived! We are still far from out of the woods with many challenges yet to overcome. It’s been a strenuous 12 months for Debacle and many others in the hospitality industry yet smooth seas don’t make good sailors, and you can’t make good memories without a little Debacle! Big shout out to Feral Brewing Company for organising a display fridge for us! There's Feral Draught, Feral War Hog and the infamous Biggie Juice in stock all at retail prices! ... We also received our own growlers which have been so popular we are gonna have to order more in... I will admit, the Chef's and I are feeling a little lonely still - I'm thinking about getting some life-size cardboard cutouts of the staff to put around the place....Thoughts? 12.01.2022 - CORONAVIRUS MANDATORY LOCKDOWN WEEK 8 Dear Diary, As per changes to restrictions starting this Saturday, Debacle will be able to serve up to 10 patrons for dine in! - FULL DETAILS TO BE POSTED FRIDAY - As a result, we had a big meeting today to discuss seating arrangements and further changes to the food/drinks menu there’s much to be done over the coming days!... Perhaps the most exciting development is that it looks like we will be bringing some of our staff back for a few small shifts over the coming weeks which is great news for them and also my sanity it also means that our customers will be served by a variety of attractive people not just myself! We wish to show our gratitude for all the amazing support we have received over this challenging period so our meals will continue to be discounted (dine-in or takeaway) for all our amazing customers! MenuLog is also being finalised as I write this shouldn’t be too long now!... Also check out my new photo frame (pictured) which came with a visit from one of the staff today safe to say she’s gunning for employee of the month! Unfortunately I’ve held that title 2 years running now and I doubt that's gonna change... It does mean I will have to cancel that order of life-size cardboard cutouts of the staff I ordered last week Another piece of good news is that the ACT Government announced the Jobs for Canberrans Fund which will hopefully provide some much needed work for some of our staff and many others in the Hospo Industry. 05.01.2022 - CORONAVIRUS MANDATORY LOCKDOWN WEEK 9 Dear Diary, Things are beginning to return to some sense of normalcy, but as with a lot of things it’s the similarities which are the strangest as so much else is different. Pictured is Nathan Harris, one of our long-time regulars five weeks ago he emerged from self-imposed quarantine and yesterday looked much more at ease enjoying a glass of local Lark Hill Shiraz and some of our yummy pizza bread!... It has been absolutely wonderful to have some patrons dine-in this week all of our customers have been incredibly pleasant and understanding of the restrictions we have had to impose. And what a blessing to have some of the staff back and working alongside me! Hopefully it won’t be long until we can bring the entire team back! So - Cheers to a morale lifting week! Love, Debacle

03.01.2022 Introducing the ¡Más Agave! At Debacle we LOVE cocktails and so do the brewers at Founders Brewing Co. Few are more refreshing than the tart and tangy Margarita and their latest barrel-aged beer pays tribute to that perennial classic. Taking an imperial gose brewed with agave, lime and sea salt and then ageing it in tequila barrels. Consider this a party in a beer glass!
