23.01.2022 Children sometimes find it difficult to express their feelings but these questions are a great way to start. I find that when they can firstly identify WHEN they felt a certain way, it opens the door for you to ask WHY they felt that way and helps them think it through more clearly... Which in the end will only help us big kids understand the root of the problem...

12.01.2022 What is sandplay therapy I hear you say? Nope! No sandpit action here, well not completely! Sandplay therapy is a nonverbal therapeutic intervention that makes use of a sandbox, toy figures, and sometimes water, to create scenes of miniature worlds that reflect a person’s inner thoughts, struggles, and concerns. This form of play therapy is practised along with talk therapy, using the sandbox and figures as communication tools. and is super effective in getting the little p...eople (and sometimes the big ones) to get clarity on the real problem, so I can then assist with guidance and offer a path to a solution... If your little one is suffering from anxiety, anger or distress, sandplay may be the key in unlocking the true problem. For more info, message me or give me a call on 0421 704 840.

02.01.2022 Dr Michael Carr-Gregg is one of Australia’s highest-profile psychologists and leading parenting experts. We are excited to welcome Dr Carr-Gregg back to St Catherine's Catholic College this year to provide parents and carers with answers on how to be the parent in their relationship with their child as well as raise happy and resilient children. St Catherine’s Principal Luke Thomson said he has heard Dr Carr-Gregg speak previously and knows the value of his presentations as b...oth an educator and as a parent himself. Dr Carr-Gregg believes Mental health is a priority. Happiness is an essential. Self-care is a necessity., and I agree! Dr Carr-Gregg provides the tools to help you navigate the complex role of parenthood, which we all know has no road map, he said. #amentothat At St Catherine’s Catholic College we place a high importance on partnering with parents in the education and development of their children and firmly believe that any support we can provide families is a positive investment in our students’ future. Dr Carr-Gregg is also a regular on Channel 7’s Sunrise, or you might have read one of his 12 books, or heard him on The Morning Program with 3AW’s Neil Mitchell. This event will be held on Wednesday, May 6 and is open to the community to come along and attend, with doors opening at 5.30pm for a 6.30pm start. Entry is free and food and drinks will be available on the night for purchase at the child-free event. Hope to see you there!

02.01.2022 What with being parents 24 hours a day, together with housework, careers and whatever else you might have on your plate, it’s really easy to lose touch with your partner. Book some time out for each other, Meditation shows us how to have more mental and emotional space for these things, how to be more sensitive to their needs and kinder in our actions. We all need a little more kindness! This workshop later today is the perfect opportunity to invest in yourselves.
