25.01.2022 Another player profile and it’s the oppositions favourite player Name: Cody Hewat Nicknames: Mugs, 3.5, Nugget Senior, Champ... Jumper number: 21 but really depends on if Andrew Chalmers has lost my jumper, oddly wear number 19 and sometimes 20 if he’s lost both. How many years have you been at DMB: 2 of the very best Favourite person at the club and why: Probably the bloke I just mentioned even though he losses my jumpers the club wouldn’t function with all the work he does behind the scenes, give the man a grand stand. Most annoying person at the club and why : The boys are going to say that’s it me so I wont lie to myself its me, but Clay ‘Nugget’ Dillon is annoying when he gets his rig out next to mine at training. Any 3 people in the world you would invite to dinner: Mum, Dad and the missus Mums been nagging me for ages so better invite her. Favourite DMB Memory: I’ve actually got two. The Rutherglen win last year was huge, I was actually the runner but I don’t think I’ve ever been apart of such an electric last quarter where the boys withstood the fight and nailed the win, Max Kreuzer was tagging Damo Wilson that day and I reckon Damo had 40 touches and got the 3 votes but to this day Max will tell you he won us the game. The second one was Liam Hoods screamer on my head at Kiewa last year. If you could have 1 opposition player at DMB who would it be and why: Would love to play alongside Tom Anson ( Barny ), one of the best kicks in the league and kills the opposition on the small grounds and would kick the ball to me better then Nicko does. Favourite Player as a kid: Nick Riewoldt, Amazing athlete. Favourite thing about DMB: The party boys, Davo down at the pub, The incredible bunch of volunteers, The exciting juniors we have coming through the ranks. I’ve missed it all over the last couple months hopefully we can get back out and around everyone soon.

25.01.2022 Senior Netball Pre-Season Don’t forget our senior netball pre-season kicks off this Thursday 21st of January at 6.15 pm at Dederang Netball Courts! All past, current and new players are welcome! Feel free to contact:... Justine Goonan (A&B Grade Coach 0427070886) Shannon Larkin (C Grade Coach 0447851520) Monique Ford (Netball Operations Manager 0457414662) with any questions. We can’t wait to see some familiar and hopefully some new faces after a long break off netball!

25.01.2022 Just a touch over 5 weeks until Big Bomber. Get your tickets now!! Good luck

24.01.2022 Coming back to DMBFNC is Mitch McDermott. He is not new to DMBFNC, having played all of his junior football here. Mitch had a break from football but is keen to get back into it. Mitch has put in a strong performance on the track this pre-season. Mitch has been enjoying a tough preseason and is looking forward to getting back into in it 2020. We can’t wait to see him back out there!

21.01.2022 Next on our 2021 coaching line up is our lovely C Grade coach, Shannon Larkin! Shannon is one of our awesome senior netballers who has graciously put her hand up to coach our C Grade side! Shannon’s enthusiasm for netball is something to aspire to, she put a lot of work into what was going to be the 2020 season so we are super keen to watch her put her skills and knowledge into action in 2021! How long have you been apart of DMB?... This season will be my 5th at the club. Favourite thing about DMB? The social events are bangin. The people are friendly. The community is so supportive of everyone. Dave at The Ranga pours a delicious beer. So many great things about this club. Favourite social event at DMB? Definitely Big Bomber. Everyone loves day drinking, right?! Why did you want to coach at DMB? The playing group at DMB has excellent talented players, we want to see them all meet their potential and I wanted to be a part of that. We haven’t had the finals success since I’ve been here but you can sense the swing in momentum and confidence. When I was asked I was pretty keen to be part of it. What are you looking forward to for season 2021? Returning to normal sports! Sport is such a release for so many people and to be deprived of that last season has been tough. Small communities thrive on their Saturday sport and it really brings everybody together. It will be great to see the community working together again and hopefully some finals are on the cards across football and netball.

21.01.2022 Sending our love and support to the Sheilds’ family #37 Kane Love the Bomber family

20.01.2022 To wrap up our 2021 netball coaching line up, we have our incredible A & B Grade coach, the wonderful Justine Goonan! Goonz has been around the club forever, as a player and as a coach for juniors and seniors. Goonz is such a great leader and always brings everyone to attention with her quarter time pep talks and directing the play on the court whilst coaching and playing. This will be Goonz’s first year coaching an A grade side, as well as juggling B grade. Make sure you ge...t around her at games, we have no doubt she is going to do an incredible job and if you want to get some brownie points, just get her a coffee! How long have you been a part of DMB? I’m lucky to have been around DMB for most of my netball playing days. I started back in Under 13s, skipping Midgets (due to my sporting prowess, or more likely my height) and have played every Junior and Senior grade since. I started coaching Junior sides as a Junior and in recent years I’ve been fortunate to both play and coach our DMB Senior Netball sides. Favourite thing about DMB? My favourite thing about DMB is the community. It’s a community within the great community of the local area where I’ve lived, worked and love. At DMB we have great people and families who have been involved throughout the years and today that make the Club what it is, a great place to be. Favourite social event at DMB? My most favourite of all time, is the Pub Olympics. Pub olympics is an epic event that includes everything from beer to interpretative dance (or that could just be because of Nelza’s influence). Although not technically a Club event, there’s been many an awesome Netball trip over the years too! Why did you want to coach at DMB? I have been coached by and coached with many fantastic coaches at DMB who I have learnt so much from. I love the community of Dederang and DMB, and want to be part of helping the Club continue grow to achieve success now and into the future. What are you looking forward to for season 2021? It’s definitely not having to run again. After the year that 2020 has been, a sense of community has never been more important. I’m looking forward to getting back to Netball with a great group of girls, getting back to the Club, it’s games and events, continuing what we started this year and regular parmis and pots at The Ranga. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! We look forward to what’s to come in 2021

20.01.2022 If anyone needs anymore Big Bomber tickets to sell. Lari has them in town today. Please call her on 0448 241 105

19.01.2022 Introducing Darcy Greig to DMBFNC. Darcy played his junior football at Fitzroy AFC, playing under 19s last year while cracking it for a few games in the under 23 team. Darcy is very athletic and looks like a great pickup for the club. Darcy lives locally so make sure you say g'day next time you see him

19.01.2022 To all our valued sponsors, supporters and players, Due to the announcement by AFLNEB and Netball Victoria, DMBFNC will not be training until further notice. As you may already be aware, the 2020 season has been postponed until the 31st of May. We look forward to seeing you all around the field and court but until then, we need to take the appropriate precautions to keep you all healthy and safe. ... DMBFNC Committee.

18.01.2022 Next on the 2021 netball coaching line up is our amazing 17 & Under coach Sharon Coulston! Shaz has been around the club for a very long time and is always doing a job of some form! She has been one our junior coaches for years and has actually coached most of our 17’s in the past, which is fantastic to see all the hard work she has put into coaching. Shaz really does put her heart and soul into coaching and we are looking forward to seeing her make some future senior netbal...lers next year! How long have you been apart of DMB? 2001 Favourite thing about DMB? The families and players across all grades of Netball and Football that make our great Club inclusive for all. Favourite social event at DMB? Senior Presentation night and black tie ball. A wonderful night to see the player’s and coaches achievements. Committee members acknowledged and life members recognised, whilst also enjoying a beverage and dance. Why did you want to coach at DMB? Netball coaching has always been a passion of mine as I enjoy seeing the growth and development of the players as they learn new skills and gain confidence. We had a strong team and strong friendships in the 2020 season and I was excited to see where it was going. Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be, therefore I have unfinished business ! What are you looking forward to for season 2021? Catching up friends and community members especially after having the year we’ve had.

15.01.2022 With the 2020 Season fast approaching, we thought we would take some time to introduce some of our newest Bombers Coming back to DMBFNC in 2020 is our Coach Damien Jones. DJ is determined to continue to build on the last two years. He last played at DMBFNC in 2015 and has since been a key in defence for the Wodonga Bulldogs and will slot in down back again this year. DJ brings a vast amount of knowledge back to the club and if preseason is anything to go by, its going to be another huge year for the Bombers.

14.01.2022 Tawhiti Pahina (AKA Cyril) Cyril only managed a couple of games last year with work commitments, but showed his class being in the best 3 each game. Cyril hasn’t missed a session this pre-season, showing great commitment to his training. Although Cyril’s goals for the year are to get fit and enjoy his football again, from what we saw last year he will be more than a handful for the opposition.

13.01.2022 Jackson McDermott was one of the standout under 17s at DMBFNC last year. Jacko is a strong, ball hunting, tackling machine! Jacko's preseason has been impressive, showing that he has the skills and determination to transition to Senior football with ease.

08.01.2022 Saw this published tonight by a Gippsland Gun... Football has been part of me my whole life, but it’s not the game I miss. I miss ...getting to training mid week when it’s wet and windy, after being inside all day. I miss seeing my friends in an environment where they are most completely themselves. I miss building something together with my club, in it together. I miss waking up on game day, packing my bag hardly being able to eat. I miss watching the reserves and talking absolute jive with the boys, coffee in hand. I miss the hour after the game, sitting and having a beer in the rooms. It’s never been about the game, it’s been about the people, the club and the community. Can’t wait to see everyone. Gold Blake Carew

01.01.2022 Next up on season 2021 netball coaching line up is our wonderful 15 and Under coach, the one and only Belinda McKillop! If you say you don’t know who Bill is then you’re lying! Bill is truly a jack of all trades and is one of our best assets at DMB. Bill’s years of experience of playing high level senior netball does wonders with our junior netballers (and even our senior ones!) and no doubt she will smash out another year of coaching like the legend she is! How long have you... been a part of DMB? I started playing in 2014. Favourite thing about DMB? Love the friendships that I have made. Favourite social event at DMB? The end of year ball, it’s a great way to celebrate the year that was. Why did you want to coach at DMB?
