23.01.2022 Welcome to Deep Speak Counselling and Life Coaching. Thank you so much for visiting our page! My name is Lauren Cavati and I am the founder of Deep Speak. We provide online counselling to anyone in Australia wanting some support. I was born and raised in a small rural town in NSW where people really connected and cared for each other. It was a place where we didn't even lock the doors to our houses...we didn't need to...because we trusted and respected each other. I guess th...is is where my values grew from, leading me to pursue a career in helping others. I went on to complete a Bachelor of Psychology and a Master of Social Work and spent nearly eight years in the Not-for-Profit sector of Community Services. With all the changes that have happened in 2020 due to Covid-19, I started to think about how I could help others during this time, and ongoing. I remembered how in my small town, we would often lose track of time engaged in deep speak. Many of the conversations I had back then, were nothing short of life changing. And so it only felt fitting that this service be called Deep Speak. A safe place online where people can connect with someone who really cares and develop a therapeutic relationship built on mutual trust and respect. It is my intention that with Deep Speak, we can really help others and be a part of many more life changing conversations.

22.01.2022 A client turned up for their appointment this morning wearing this shirt that they intentionally bought online. To say I was excited was a total understatement!!! To know this person feels this way about our work together makes me so happy. But honestly, it's so much more than that. By purposely putting this important message out into the world and working to reduce the stigma associated with seeking mental health support, they are actively advocating for the wellbeing of our... whole world. And yes, going to therapy is cool! An investment in your mind is an investment in your life. 13.01.2022 Don't condemn behaviour, be curious about it instead. What could it be telling you? Gaining compliance should not be the goal. Create a safe space where you can connect and co-regulate with your child. Try to choose compassion over condemnation.

07.01.2022 Happy International Women's Day! In the words of Michelle Obama 'There is no limit to what we as women can accomplish'. I truly believe this.... Last year while facing the inevitable end of maternity leave from my workplace of almost ten years, I was also facing the huge decision that many mothers are faced with...what do I do now? And although we are so blessed to be able to make these decisions that so many women in history were not given the basic rights to make, we do feel the weight of these choices. We are expected to parent as if we are not working and work as if we are not parenting. The balance is hard to achieve and the mental load we carry is heavy. My choice meant that I had to take a chance on myself. I had to stand up in a world where the worth of women is still often questioned and where we still often question our own worth. But I did stand up. I registered my private mental health practice 'Deep Speak' in April last year and I showed up for myself every day since then, doing what I love in life, which is helping other people love their lives. It has been almost a year since then and I have a busy and beautiful little practice which I am extremely proud of. All of this has reaffirmed for me that we as women should never limit ourselves. We truly can achieve whatever our hearts desire. So to all the amazing women out there, you are so sensational.
