16.01.2022 Congratulations to all our competitors who represented De La Salle and OLMC at the SSCCC Swimming Carnival . This year was a very close competition between each of the Catholic Schools, and so we are very proud to announce that our combined schools managed to win this year's carnival.

16.01.2022 During this week we held the St Vinnies house indoor soccer competition. This fast style game was held at recess and lunch in the hall over 3 days. The series of knockouts culminated with the Polding/Slattery team winning the competition overall. This gave them the privilege of playing a staff team on Friday at lunch in the Grand Final. (Which was won by staff 2-1 in a hotly, contested match.) Thanks so much to everyone who participated, including referees, players, spectators, DJ's and staff. All proceeds raised will be going to the St Vincent De Paul Society in the lead up to the Xmas Appeal. Thanks so much to Mr Jason Smith and students for the organisation of this competition.

03.01.2022 Today the College commemorated Remembrance Day - an important ceremony that remembers the end of WWI and those who made the ultimate sacrifice in war. The most noticeable symbol of Remembrance Day is the red Flanders poppy. It was popularised in the contemporary poem by the Canadian doctor, Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, who was moved to write it in 1915 after the death of a close friend on the Western Front. McCrae’s poem has inspired generations to recognise the red poppy ...as a symbol of remembrance for those who served in the war. Our students and teachers were asked to write the name of someone that they know or knew who served in war on the back of a commemorative poppy or to look up the Australian War Memorial to find the name of a person they could remember for the ceremony. These paper poppies were planted around our flag poles for this week to serve as a personal reminder for students and staff to help remember that the peace and security we take for granted is due largely to the bravery of those we commemorated at the College today.
