25.01.2022 Our 2020/21 season has just started. Monday and Tuesday this week. We are in desperate need of more umpires. If you can help us out please send us a message. Thanks.

23.01.2022 Mens C Grade and B Grade commence tonight. Please ensure all spectators are signed in. Social distancing 1 1/2 metres must be adhered to. Sanitize basketballs if you bring them. Please use the main door as entrance and exit by the side door on court 2. Thanks everyone for helping us keep the community safe.

21.01.2022 DABA committee are working hard to get a basketball roster happening for the 2020/21 season. Covid 19 has caused a few hassles. The Annual meeting of the Association will be held on Thursday night 13th August at 6 pm in the Complex Auditorium to allow for social distancing. If you are willing to come on committee or hold an exec position please send us a private message to get more information.

18.01.2022 Thé season is off to a good start but we have a couple of teams looking for players. B grade women on Tuesday nights and B men on Wednesday night. Please message if you’re interested in playing.

18.01.2022 Players please note when registering to play there is a $60 BTas fee that must be paid if you haven’t already paid it somewhere else in 2020. Please check $50 for DABA part payment of fees and BTas $60 before proceeding with your registration. Please let us know if you are having a problem before proceeding. Thanks everyone. 11.01.2022 I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thanks to our referees for the great work they've done so far getting our 2020/21 season under way. Starting next week both B & C Grade Men start & in turn will require more referees. A break down of our playing roster is... 08.01.2022 Deloraine Amateur Basketball Association 2020/21 Basketball Season Planning has commenced to organise a Senior Basketball roster at Deloraine. As well as adhering to guidelines set out by the State Government, Meander Valley Council, and Basketball Tasmania we have also been working with other user groups of the Community Complex to ensure all parties are maintaining a ... safe environment for all users. The Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday 13th August at 6PM in the Auditorium All positions will be declared vacant, however to allow the season to go ahead we will require all Executive Positions be filled, along with General Committee members. If you feel you can play a role to assist Deloraine Amateur Basketball by holding a position on committee, please contact us as soon as possible so we may provide you with more details of what would be entailed. In the coming days we will be emailing a ‘Team Nomination Form’ to all previous team contacts. This form will also be available on our website for new teams. Team Nomination Forms need to be completed and returned by Monday 27th July so that the roster can be organised as soon as possible. Please note that this season at least 7 playing members is required for a team to be registered. This is to help reduce the number of games forfeited by teams due to lack of players. At this stage, playing nights are undetermined as this is dependent on the number of teams entered in each grade division. However, we hope to have more definite details of playing nights, times etc at the General Meeting once team forms have been lodged. As with previous seasons, anyone willing to referee is always appreciated. If players can help out with this please include their details on the team nomination form. With your help, we look forward to getting the new season up and running soon. Don’t forget the meeting Thursday 13th August. Regards DABA Committee

04.01.2022 Deloraine Amateur Basketball were saddened to hear of the recent passing of Ian Barwick. Ian was a well respected member & was one of the first male players to reach 400 games within the association. Finishing on a total of 444.... Ian (back left) can be seen surrounded by his team members of Chudleigh. He was known for being able to whistle like the whistle and used to tread on people's toes and hold their shirt. He was also a great player and teammate I would encourage any past players/members that may have some stories relating to Ian to please leave them in the comments as I'm sure many of his family/friends would be appreciative.
