02.01.2022 Make sure your home is secure this Easter long weekend. Burglaries are often opportunistic crimes, with most intruders looking for, and often finding houses, sh...eds, garages and vehicles left open or unlocked. This allows them to get what they can and make a quick getaway. Some home security tips to consider; - Ensure all doors and windows are securely locked and your curtains and blinds are closed. - If you have sensor lights ensure they are left on. If you have visible security systems for external doors and windows they can also be an effective deterrent. - Keep any spare keys out of sight and ensure your letter box and back gate are padlocked. - Ensure you keep your valuables safe and out of sight. - Dont leave garden tools lying around; always keep them in a locked shed or garage. If you arrive home and you believe someone is inside, dont go into your home, go somewhere safe and call police. If you are at home this long weekend, its also important to consider home security. Keep your front door and vehicle locked and ensure your back gate is secure.
