25.01.2022 I had to take my Son (who is a Chronic Asthmatic) to the Doctor as his asthma is out of control at the moment. He's had a constant cough and shortness of breath that has gotten worse since coming off steroids early last week. I called the medical centre this morning as he had a bad episode after school drop off and was told by receptionist to come to the centre and to stay in our car. The Dr would come out to us to consult. When we arrived, I called the receptionist as i...Continue reading

22.01.2022 Are you missing out on precious time with your family because you are trying to catch up on paperwork, invoicing, quoting, and following up with potential Clients? You don't have to you know. Give me a call and lets chat.

21.01.2022 Are you living to work or working to live? Time is the one thing we can't control. It ticks by no matter how much we may want it to stop or to move faster. Regardless there never seems to be enough of it in a day. While we can't control time, we can well and truly control how we utilise it. ... Time management is one of the most important tools we use in business but rarely used effectively. Take control, plan, find services that will help you manage your time and make your business work for you

19.01.2022 Not sure fishing is my thing, but I definitely love having the freedom to enjoy the weekend

19.01.2022 Happy New Year Everyone!!!! For those who don't know me, my name is Kylie and I own and run Delta Virtual Admin Services. I started my business as I saw small businesses, especially small tradie businesses, struggle to run every aspect of their business including the admin side. I saw friends and family busting their backsides all day working the jobs they had booked in, then staying up until all hours of the night invoicing, paying accounts and answering emails. This left ...little time for them to be chasing payments of outstanding invoices, keeping up to date with compliance and insurances and generating new work. They were literally burning the candle from both ends, and the stress is caused was paramount. But it doesn't need to be like this. Most small businesses can't afford to hire a full time or even part time admin assistant, but they can afford someone on a casual and as needed basis. This is were I step in. So if you're feeling overwhelmed and need help, it doesn't matter if it's for an hour or a week, give me a call and let me see how I can help you obligation free. - Kylie

18.01.2022 Family is the most important thing in the World to me. When I first started my business, it was because I wanted to spend more time with them. I wanted be around for their milestones. I wanted to be there for their first days of school, for their class awards, sports days and special days. I wanted to be there at night when we could all sit around the table and talk about our day.... I wanted to be there on the weekends and enjoy making memories with my children. Unfortunately, I got to a point where I was so flat out busy that I was spending all my time working and not having the time to be with them. Our nights turned into them eating a quick dinner in front of the TV while I worked. Our weekends turned in to them being on technology because I was working. The were bored and cranky and I was cranky because I did nothing but work. I lost my perspective. One day one of my Son's said that I loved my work more than them. Oh my God I was shocked! Wasn't I doing this all for them? Wasn't I busting my ass working to support them and give them everything they wanted? I was so angry and upset. How could they be so selfish! After I calmed down and looked past the hurt I really began to think about what I was doing and how it must look to my children. All they ever saw was me working. I wasn't fun any more. I was so tired and cranky and just focused on making it through each day. I lost sight of why I was working so hard. I'm a Virtual Assistant who helps other people with their businesses so they can focus on their families. Yet here I was neglecting mine. What's that saying, "Do as I say and not as I do." That was me to my Clients. So I took some of my own advice. I hired someone to help me so I could go back to the reason I started my own business and spend more time with my children. Now I'm a 'present Mum'. I attend my children's first day of school. I attend their assembly's and watch them receive awards. We go out on the weekends and make memories, we have dinner every night together and talk about our day. We have reconnected as a family and I hope now they realise through my actions that they really are the most important people in my life.

17.01.2022 I previously worked a regular job for a company who had a small team of amazing staff. Every Friday afternoon I would create a little gif for them to show how much their efforts for that week were appreciated. It was a little thing that took me five minutes to create, but it really meant alot to them.... So much so they'd print them out and hang them around the office. Running a business can be hectic and it's easy to get caught up in with all the tasks we need to do. Unfortunately, we then forget the little things like appreciating the people who help us run our business. So this Friday, how are you going to show your Staff your appreciation?

15.01.2022 I'm a member of a few networking and small business groups that help each other with the struggles of running your own business. Today I read a post that got me thinking The gist of the post is the poster was saying how great her social media presence is and how she's spent all this money on ad campaigns and her reach is awesome. Yay for her right! :D ... But after this rave about how hard she's worked at building her social media presence she went on to ask advice on how the get Clients. And because she has spent so much money so can't pay someone to help her so she wanted 'free advice'. Now I'm all for helping other businesses with advice and I often give it away for free but when someone asked for it and expects it for free I'm a little reluctant to give it. The poster was clearly proud with her social media marketing that was gaining this awesome reach.......... but it clearly isn't working as she not securing any Clients I think this is where we can sometimes go wrong. The end goal is always to increase sales and/or gain Clients. But you can have the best social media profiles in the business, but unless you focus on actually securing Clients, what's the point? Social Media Marketing is only one aspect of promoting your business. You also need to pay attention to other areas and engage other promotional and marketing strategies and not solely rely on Social Media. Now I've worked with some amazing businesses that have very little social media presence, yet have amazing sales and of course vise versa. But you always need to work at what works for your business in your community with your target market. At the end of the day the goal is ALWAYS about making for money. That there is the focus. You just need to work out the strategies to achieve that goal

09.01.2022 Is this you? Did you notice I didn't have space for 'Doing the actual work'? Running a small business is tough. In most cases there is only one person doing the job of six in order to run a business that will generate an income.... Unfortunately, unless you want to run yourself into the ground, it's just not possible. It's for this reason that hiring someone to help you can be the best investment. Not only in your business, but in yourself that you can make. Now I'm not saying you have to spend a fortune on hiring an assistant full time, but there are other options available. Delta Virtual Admin Services sub-contracts on an hourly basis. This gives you the flexibility of choosing how many hours you need. Whether it's an hour or a week, it doesn't hurt to make a phone call to see how I can help you.

09.01.2022 All too often I come across businesses that have received horrible reviews from people who have never used their services. The impact of these negative reviews can have an effect on the business and on the business owner causing loss of business and mental health issues. In the case below, the Troll was prosecuted forced to pay $750,000 to the business owner. In my opinion anyone who posts a negative review on a business page they have not dealt with before should be prosecuted.

08.01.2022 Day#4 Today was exhausting! I had a flex day and thought I'd use it to call around for trades to attend to quote. ... I don't think I ever quite appreciated all the preparation work that goes into organising a quote! I literally drained my battery to nothing this afternoon. Long story short, I now have a number of trades set up to quote: roof restorers, electicians to upgrade the incoming cable, solar and builders. I can't wait to get costings and pick which trades I want to do the work. The frustrating this is the contract on the house isn't unconditional yet and building and pest is yet to be done. So this could all be futile in the end. #renovationmadness #builders #tradies #roofrestoration #builder #review #renovation #bathroomdesign

08.01.2022 Today I was told by a potential new Client that he couldn't afford me I don't get this very often and it was disappointing because I could see he had a business that could thrive and make money if he just had a little assistance. Whenever I speak to a Business Owner in any type of industry, I always ask why they started their business. The two main responses are:... 1) To generate an income on their terms 2) Flexibility and work/life balance. The thing is Business Owners soon realise that in order to generate an income they have to find the jobs, do the jobs, do all the paperwork involved with the jobs, then continually try and find new jobs. All while answering the phone, quoting, responding to emails, keeping on top of administration tasks, bookkeeping and accounts and chasing payments of overdue invoices. So while they are generating an income, are they actually being paid? And where is the work/life balance and flexibility? It baffles me that small business owners feel like they can do it all. They can't. Well they can, but at what cost? Hiring a Virtual Assistant doesn't have to be complicated and it can be so beneficial. Honestly, it's as simple as engaging the services of a sub-contractor. Making a phone call won't hurt you, but it could just give you the freedom to get back some of that work/life balance.

06.01.2022 Unfortunately COVID-19 is having an impact on all small businesses. Reports are indicating most small businesses are seeing at least a 50% drop in bookings as well as a high percentage of bookings being cancelled by Clients. Being Small Business Owners this having a major impact on our income. It's scary, but I like to try and look on the bright side. With the reduction in workload this maybe the perfect opportunity to get on top of the Admin side of things. ... And this would definitely be the perfect opportunity to learn how to use Social Media to promote and advertise your business. Learning how to effectively promote your business on various social media platforms will keep you in newsfeeds and becoming recognised in the community. So when the time comes Clients will know who they can call to have the job done. From today (19/03/2020) until the end of April (30/04/2020), I will be reducing my rates for any small business who has under five employees, an hourly rate of $25 for Social Media Training and Mentoring. To book call 0423358922 or send me a message via Facebook.

05.01.2022 For those times when you just have to focus on the job but you don't want to miss those important phone calls, hiring a Virtual Assistant could be the answer. Flexible hours rates suited to you business needs.
