17.01.2022 We did it! The girls and Slothy will be part of the Beaker Street Science Photography Exhibition at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. The exhibit will be on display for a few weeks, however due to the Bat Flu bookings are required - entry is free!... Thanks to all of you who helped me out with the voting system, I'm very humbled to be a part of such a distinguished annual event.

17.01.2022 So the competition closes this evening and this is the deal: The 6 images with the most likes out of the 70 odd images in this selection automatically go through to the Final 12. Another 6 images are chosen by the judge. The Final 12 are then exhibited at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery where there will be one overall winner, as picked by the judge, and one People’s Choice winner, as picked by the public that wanders through the exhibition. ... I’m not much of a betting man, and to be honest, I’ll just be over the moon to see my three little girls in a museum exhibit like the little Tasmanian Devils they are. As it stands I’m within that top 6 but if you could share and like the image within I’d feel much more confident in the final run home. Cheers!

12.01.2022 IT’S A COMPETITION!! And it’s a statewide photography competition about science. Or pie-pants... I wasn’t listening properly when it was announced. I’m a scientist who occasionally takes photos so it stands to reason that YOU must vote for this image.... That’s good logic. The image must show a scientific process, if you read my caption attached to the image you will have a better understanding of Three-toed Sloths and also how the Tessellated Pavement was formed. But don’t like this post, it only works if you click on the image here within Beaker Street’s post and like that. Actually, bugger that, it’s all too much effort isn’t it. 12.01.2022 I’ve shot with Nikon since picking up a camera in 2013. To make it to a stage where I have had the chance to work with them on some of their latest releases has been an extremely humbling experience.

11.01.2022 Z 5 Sunrise ISO 50 f/8.0 0.8 24mm... Having that expanded ISO allows that little bit of extra exposure time at times like this. Exposures of around 1 second, give or take, afford a beautiful visualisation of water movement and are usually my starting point for beach shots.
