25.01.2022 School of Light Update You may have noticed the relentless pace of creating and uploading content to the School of Light youtube has slowed. Well... I have about 30 tutorials and 20 image breakdowns sitting on my storage system that failed this week. Power supply. Its all good as the data is still there, but have decided to migrate across to a larger beastlier unit. 20tb of data is a lot to manage, so those of you I have interviewed and are waiting to see your amazing stuff,... be patient. 20.01.2022 Tonight at the @bfopaustralia festival we will be recreating this image live! We have around 180 people at my workshop last night, it went off. Live light painting, across the internet. The first couple of days have been amazing. The level of presenters is outrageous. 20.01.2022 Come on a Journey This time next week I will be standing on one of the largest salt lakes on earth, a fantasy since I moved here 12 years ago. The main focus is creating light painting tutorials for the School of Light, so I thought, lets make a series of the whole trip. Planning, travel, challenges then the actual location. 20.01.2022 EMBRACE THE NOISE! Thanks Tim Gamble for the title! It is better to "get the shot" than worry about what people will say about the "noise". In this video I show one of the many times when using a high iso setting gets the shot. ... I call complete bullsh!t on those who call out noise. Dont worry about those people, they dont get it. Around 500 participants. I was gutted that it was not in person, this is an image I captured there last year, but Matt Krumins and Nick Fletcher absolutely smashed it out of the park. 01.01.2022 APOSTLES Here is one for the dreamers. In these wild times of restrictions, lockdowns and travel bans, I am spending a lot of time dreaming about where Im going to head when it opens up again. For sure the UK and US, but I am thinking of less obvious places, out of the way. But in the mean time Im concentrating on my home state. Over the next 6 months I have plans to explore the distant corners of South Australia. It is a truly incredible place with the most diverse landsca...pes. This madness will end soon.
