25.01.2022 Ever wondered what a baby pelican looks like? They are not easy to spot in the wild because pelicans often breed on protected islands away from human disturbanc...e. These nestlings were spotted recently at one of WA’s most important pelican rookeries on Penguin Island. The youngsters are seen feeding by putting their entire head down their parents’ throats! The parents identify their nestlings from hundreds of other chicks by recognising the unique patterns on their faces. There are seven species of pelicans in the world. The Australian pelican (Pelecanus conspicillatus) is the largest and arguably the prettiest! Rick Dawson

Denmark Rivermouth Caravan Park, Miss K - Lee and Reminisce Cafe will have a QR Code for the SafeWA app in an effort to keep WA Safe. We ask that when you enter the caravan park, cafe or boat you scan the code using the SafeWA app. If staying a number of night in our park it has been recommended that you scan/checkin with the app everyday of your stay.

It's essential dogs are kept on a lead when walkin...g paths and trails and other areas that are not leash-free. Kwoorabup Park is on-lead only, important not only to keep other people and dogs safe but also to protect your dog from snakes which have been known to travel up from the riverbank and bask in the sun on a warm winter’s day. The next time you enjoy the parks, paths and trails, take precautions by keeping your dog on its lead, wearing long pants and enclosed shoes and keep yourself and your dog to clear open ground.
