24.01.2022 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Prevention You might catch novel coronavirus (COVID-19) if: * someone with the virus sneezes or coughs onto you * someone with the virus coughed or sneezed onto a surface (like a door handle) that you touch, and you get the infected droplets on your hands and then transfer them to your mouth, nose or eyes when you touch your face or eat.... There are 5 ways we can all help stop the spread of viruses 1. Clean your hands regularly with soap and water or alcohol-based hand rubs. 2. Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or bent elbow when coughing or sneezing. 3. Avoid touching your face, nose and mouth. And avoid shaking hands. 4. Stay home if you are unwell. 5. Avoid contact with anyone who is unwell try to stay 1.5m away from anyone coughing or sneezing. Credit: Queensland Government We can all help to stop the spread of the coronavirus. This video also details good hygiene practices that everyone can adopt.

20.01.2022 Toothache There can be several causes for toothaches which include teeth sensitivity, gum disease, an impacted wisdom tooth and tooth decay. A trip to the dentist can help to determine the cause and alleviate or treat the symptoms causing the toothache. Keeping up with your regular dental check up and cleans can help to detect and prevent toothaches occurring due to decays. Dental x-rays are the best tool to visualise this by looking at decay that cannot be detected on ...the surface. If you would like to make an appointment, please contact the team on: 07 3800 8899 [email protected] www.dentalaspects.com.au We hope everyone has enjoyed the festive season and had a happy new year!

We would like to assure our patients that our clinic is cleaned thoroughly DAILY with hospital grade disinfection. If you... currently have an upcoming emergency appointment, please be advised that upon entry to the clinic you will be required to: Sanitise your hands with hand sanitiser at the reception desk for 20 seconds; AND Rinse your mouth with pre-procedural mouthrinse for 30 seconds which will be provided to you upon entry into the treatment rooms. Please note that should you not comply with these measures, we will not be able to proceed with your appointment and it will be cancelled. Should you have any concerns with these requirements, or would like to delay your upcoming appointment, please contact the clinic on (07) 3800 8899 prior to your appointment. The staff at Dental Aspects would like to thank everyone for cooperation during this time. We hope that by implementing these additional measures, we will be able to contribute to stopping the spread of the virus while continuing to provide dental care to the community during this pandemic.

11.01.2022 We apologise for the graphic nature of these pictures, but this is a great example of what before and after dental scaling can do! Tartar build-up is essentially plaque that has hardened onto the tooth structure and can no longer be removed by a toothbrush and floss. Fortunately, thanks to our special tools, we can remove that stubborn build-up quickly and safely with a scale and clean. As you can see from the photos, tartar build-up is nothing to take lightly. It is essential to treat it proactively and continuously over time with your regular six monthly check-up and cleans at the dentist to prevent damage to your teeth and gums!

07.01.2022 Dental x-rays are important to allow dentists to assess what is happening below the tooth's surface. Tooth decay can be sneaky and does not tend to show physical signs of its presence early on. What can dental x-rays detect? It can detect decay occurring between teeth not visible in the mouth, the presence of an abscess or infection, problems with existing fillings/ root canals/ crowns or bridges and more!... This is why it is important to have your x-rays updated every 2 years so that dentists can detect any changes early on and provide treatment as required. If you are due for a visit, please contact the team to make an appointment on 07 3800 8899 or at [email protected].

06.01.2022 Did you know people who tend to drink 3 or more glasses of soda daily have 62% more tooth decay, fillings and tooth loss than others? If you habitually drink soda or even sugary juices, you should drink them through a straw and make sure to rinse with water straight after so that the sugar doesnt have time to linger on your teeth
