25.01.2022 New trailer ready for sign writing B-)

24.01.2022 The weather is warming up and so are the swimming pools (dipping an arm in for a water sample is not near as unpleasant as it was a couple of months ago!) Don't forget to keep an eye on your water level and to increase your timers to 4 hours morning and 4 hours at night. :)

24.01.2022 With the warmer weather approaching, it's time to start thinking about getting ready for the swimming season. If you are thinking about updating any of your pool equipment or splashing out on a new cleaner or blanket, give us a call. We supply all of the top brands including Astral, Zodiac, Hayward, Waterco, Elite and Kreepy Krauly. We do our best to match any online offers and we'd love to do business with you right here in town :) #shoplokalwa

24.01.2022 Bit late in the season for finding snakes in the skimmer box..

24.01.2022 Didn't bring home any awards last night but had an awesome time and met some great people :-)

20.01.2022 Just would like to thank all of my loyal customers over the past 6 1/2 years of business. As some of you may know I have been trying to sell the business for some time with no success. It is with deep regret that at the end of June Desert Pool Care will be closing its doors and I will be moving out of town. The only business to shut down despite being unbelievablly successful! Once again thanks to everyone over the years and best of luck Regards, ... Mark Webster Desert Pool Care See more

17.01.2022 Hi All With the warmer weather here, we are enjoying seeing evidence of lots of pool use on our rounds. Unfortunately some of the wild weather that we have experienced recently, from hail and high rainfall to lightening and gusting winds has not been kind to pools. This, combined with the onset of the warmer weather has meant that the demand for chlorine has significantly increased with many pools requiring a little more maintenance than usual....Continue reading

16.01.2022 Hi All My name is Caroline McIntyre and I have purchased Desert Pool Care from the wonderful Mark and Karen. I have been busy down in Perth this week getting my accreditation and am very excited to get started on our one month handover during which Mark will be showing me the ropes and introducing me to our Desert Pool Care clients.... Please be aware that the ABN and bank details have already changed (new details will be on the new invoices). However, the phone number, website, email and facebook page will all remain the same and will be updated over the next couple of weeks. I look forward to continuing the same great service and pricing that you have received from Mark Cheers Caroline

15.01.2022 Q. How often should I be testing my pool water? A. Weekly over winter and 2-3 times per week during the swimming season for free chlorine and pH. Other levels such as salt, stabiliser, total alkalinity, hardness, copper and phosphates can be tested less often but ideally, would be done once a month. Q. Why do I need to test my water so often?... A. A high chlorine level over an extended period of time will reduce the life of your swimming pool and equipment. A low chlorine level will allow algae to get into the pool and flourish leaving you with a swamp in your yard. During the swimming season this can happen literally overnight. Q. Why does a pool go green so much faster in summer than in winter? A. Pool water turns green because of algae in the water. Algae can grow rapidly, particularly when it’s warm like Summer, which is why it can surprise you overnight. This generally comes down to an imbalance or lack of chlorine in the water. Chlorine is an effective sanitiser; however letting chlorine levels drop for even a day can start an algae outbreak. So, it’s important to check your chlorine levels frequently to save you any nasty surprises.

09.01.2022 What happens when tenants think they know what they are doing

09.01.2022 Summer sure hit us quickly, didn't it? Last week we still had the fire going to keep the house warm and this week we have been swimming in our new pool in the evenings. We are now fast approaching green pool season so a quick update to remind you to keep an eye out for the early signs of dull and/or cloudy looking water... Q - Why does a pool go green? A - Lack of chlorine (yep, it's actually that simple) Q - What do I do if my pool starts to turn green? A - Add chlorine and run your pump for 24 hours and then investigate why there isn't enough chlorine. Is there enough water in the pool? Is the cleaner blocked? Are the skimmer baskets and pump baskets clear of debris? Is the pump priming properly? Is there good water flow coming out of the jets? Does the filter need backwashing? Is the salt cell clean of calcium build-up? Is the chlorinator running for enough hours? Is the chlorine production set high enough for the level of pool use? Is there enough salt and stabiliser in the pool? Q - I missed the early signs and there may be some swamp creatures living in my pool (I can't be sure because I can only see three inches into the water!!!!!!) A - Give us a call on 0429 350 977. We can tackle the swamp monsters for you, give you plenty of advice if you want to give it a go yourself, or share the work with you to keep the price down.

07.01.2022 Why do leaks always have to be in the most inconvenient spot?

04.01.2022 Well, I'm two weeks in now and everything is going swimmingly. I've now gotten around to about half of my regular clients and the response has been wonderful. With Mark's instruction and assistance I've cleaned up my first green pool, repaired a pump, found a leak and completed a whole heap of services. I haven't even fallen in yet :) Thanks for the warm welcome - look forward to meeting more of you as the month progresses.

04.01.2022 Our latest project!!!! (Note - it is never recommended to empty a pool without first bracing it as they can collapse in or even pop out of the ground - this pool was empty when it was handed over to us)

01.01.2022 Six weeks in now and I am loving it. We've had a few teething issues like getting deliveries to the correct addresses and getting on top of the invoicing and some very windy weather that makes cleaning pools incredibly frustrating but all in all, everything is going really well. The super exciting news is that while I am currently working on my own, by early October my husband, Darrin, and I will be operating the business together. He has already come out with me several times and is learning quickly so we are looking forward to the ability to take on additional clients and work as the weather warms up. We pride ourselves on quality work and great prices so if you are looking for someone to service your pool or need any parts or advice, please don't hesitate to call on 0429 350 977
