25.01.2022 Here is a piece of design that is close to my heart, VOX Visual Supports is another facet of DesignHybrid Studio with a much more boutique clientele. VOX is a Latin noun for "voice", which is exactly what we aim to deliver individuals with limited or no capacity for verbal communication. VOX creates full customisable visual aids, PECS visuals (picture exchange communication system) and social stories geared towards minimising the every day stress on individuals and families ...of people with communication difficulties. 23.01.2022 The hardest part of my job for me I think, is the waiting. You spend weeks in development on a logo and then you need to wait for the client to be ready to release it to the world, or in this case the Australian Quilting industry. This beautiful Ayu Batiks logo was crafted for the wonderful people at Lloyd Curzon Textiles for their line of beautiful hand crafted batik fabrics. The brief was for something that was clean, could be used in a multitude of formats, have flex t...o grow with the range and most importantly, honor the age old practice of hand crafted batik fabric. The chosen design draws inspiration from the stamps that are dipped into wax to create the detailed motifs shown on the fabric. Here are some images of not only the logo, but how it has been applied to the fabric bolt end, swing tag and reps / agents fabric sample header cards. 20.01.2022 I posted this up on the DesignHybrid IG late last year, seems I have lagged a little in adding it to the FB as well! A few of you may recognise this design as similar to an image that I posted up earlier this year, a save the date for two dear friends of mine. I love to design wedding stationery that comes together as parts of a whole. The save the date paved the way for the wedding invitation look, and then we took it to another level with some gorgeous printing and stock co...urtesy of @wearecarbon8 (the save the date was digital only). It was a variable data invite so we had to print digitally, but with this gorgeous textured stock we have captured that bespoke print feeling. Names, venue and date have been change to prevent gate crashes (sorry peeps) but I have tried to capture the sheer sex appeal this stock has with a few cropped shots, so swipe across my loves. 19.01.2022 I have been working in and alongside the textiles and quilting industries for over a decade now, and I have to say it was an absolute honor to give the AQM a fresh new look! Double the honor really, as this is an anniversary year and needed an additional logo to work alongside the main logo and mark the celebration. This logo design draws both style and colour inspiration from the popular Hexie quilts we have seen trending for the past couple of seasons. Soft colours have be...en juxtaposed against the hard angles of the hexie shapes to create a softer more feminine feeling logo without it being overtly girly. The strong sans serif coupled with the use of a French navy for the word Australia creates a visual anchor and a feeling of strength, stability and reliability, while the softer blue and brush script used for Quilt Market soften the overall look and draw in your eye. This is versatile in its application, the AQM on the hexies allows the logo to be used without the text at the bottom without compromising brand identity. See more

14.01.2022 One of the MOST important things for a child on the Autism Spectrum is routine, safe, predictable routine. Which is incredibly hard to maintain when your partner works a rotating roster that (pre-covid) had a 24 week cycle... many an unhappy night was had trying to explain where daddy was and why he wasn't home for dinner. A lot of NT people don't realise that you child may look five but their receptive language skills are at the 0-3 month old mark developmentally. You cant t...ell them information and hope they understand, you can only show them. This roster set in total contains 36 pieces, 35 visuals to cover all possible roster outcomes and one A4 backing card. Each PECS visual has a velcro sticky dot on the back of it that corresponds to placement on the backing board, giving you infinite diversity from infinite combinations. Each piece is also laminated with 150 micron laminating sheets to help them last as long as possible. What makes these schedules stand aside from others you can free download is their crisp and clean layout. Overly visual schedules can be overwhelming for a child on the spectrum. They are also fully customisable to create what YOUR child needs. I went online to grab an image to prove my point then stumbled upon the sculptures of Kathleen Ryan... WOW that was an awesome rabbit hole to stumble down. 04.01.2022 These custom essential oil labels are a stunning one colour print job printed on a water proof stock. The coloured band device at the bottom grounds the design and calls attention to the blend name (it also indicates if it is a blend or a single oil, metal tones for blend and plain tones for single). The simple styling reinforces the calming nature of the branding look as well as the ethos of the company. Aromatherapy can have amazing benefits, smell being strongly linked to ...memory and can be used to trigger a forgotten memory or remember a happy time. Humans have used aromatherapy for thousands of years. Ancient cultures in China, India, Egypt, and elsewhere incorporated aromatic plant components in resins, balms, and oils. These natural substances were used for medical and religious purposes. They were known to have both physical and psychological benefits. Essential oils distillation is attributed to the Persians in the 10th century, though the practice may have been in use for a long time prior to this.
