19.01.2022 Soothe the soul and be nurtured by nature with a four-night self-dive mini-break exploring South East Queensland. Unwind with fine wines in canopied contentment at SanctuarybySirromet glamping accommodation. You can enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the estate’s winery, enjoying premium tastings and a gourmet lunch overlooking the peaceful bushland setting only 30 minutes from Brisbane. For families Stradbroke and Moreton Island are close and fun to explore and the kids will... love the family tents. Moreton Island is a protected sand island known for its beaches and steep dunes, like Mount Tempest. On the west coast, a dive site features coral and tropical fish around a group of sunken boats called the Tangalooma Wrecks and this is also fun to snorkel. A dolphin feeding spot is nearby. Humpback whales can be viewed from Cape Moreton, the site of a 19th-century lighthouse. Stradbroke Island famous for its scenic headlands, freshwater lakes, rolling surf and endless white sandy beaches. Three little towns on the island provide a relaxed village atmosphere with Point Lookout being the best land-based whale-watching site in the world. Picnic, cycle, swim, kayak and diving are just some of the ways to spend your days and for a cultural experience the Spirits of the Red Sand is a world-class Aboriginal theater and dinner show that takes you beyond the Dreamtime to 1800’s Australia where the British and Aboriginal ways of life collide. An evening of cultural awakening, Spirits of the Red Sand will open your eyes to the history, beauty and vibrancy of the Aboriginal people. Continue further south to enjoy the tranquillity of Spicers Peak Lodge, an intimate and luxurious mountain-top retreat. With spectacular views of the Scenic Rim this is your playground in nature, enjoy scenic hikes and guided wildlife walks, mountain-biking and birdwatching, fabulous food and fine wine. Spicers Peak Lodge offers helicopter touring options, guided 4WD nature tours, campfire canapes, cocktail master-classes, a spectacular infinity pool and day spa. Return home, relaxed and rejuvenated. I recommend 2 nights in each as a minimum. Fly to Brisbane and rent a car for the easiest way to explore the area. You will always receive the same rate as booking the hotel directly along with exclusive offers and of course little extras. I would love to help you plan and take care of your next Australian escape. 19.01.2022 I love this family itinerary which showcases the contrasts of Far North Queensland; rainforest, reef and rugged outback. With Cairns as your gateway travel overland and inland from Cairns to Mount Mulligan Lodge. Australia’s newest luxury lodge is the epitome of Australian outback in style. Set on a 28,000-hectare heritage site and working cattle farm, Mount Mulligan Lodge offers a wide range of outdoor and adventure activities, combined with stylish accommodation, excellent... service, fine food and wine. Enjoy outback adventures from birdwatching to barramundi fishing, hiking, kayaking, paddle-boarding, ATV touring, stargazing and more. Return to the coast, enjoying the contemporary tropical surrounds of Niramaya Villas & Spa where you can retreat in your own luxury self contained villa from one to five bedrooms complete with private plunge pool. From here it's a short stroll to the coconut fringed sands of Four Mile Beach - and leads all the way to the centre of Port Douglas which has the feel of a sleepy fishing village but all of life's necessities with great restaurants, laid back beach culture, golf and hundreds of tours that depart from Port Douglas daily. One unique activity you should definitely put on your list is River Drift Snorkeling with Back Country Bliss Adventures. A rainforest experience like no other - float along with the current as you search for turtles, fish, and the occasional Platypus! Snorkel the Great Barrier Reef, learn Dreamtime legends in Mossman Gorge and drift on the Mosman River under the ancient rainforest canopy with a collection of inclusive day touring. Red rock, lush green rainforests, turquoise waters and technicolour fish. This is Far North Queensland at its colourful best! The Daintree National Park is the only place in the world where two World Heritage-listed sites meet: The Daintree and Great Barrier Reef. I would love to help you plan and take care of your next Australian escape. 12.01.2022 Many travellers bypass Cairns and head straight to Port Douglas and Palm Cove and while I think both of these are fabulous places to chill out and explore I also think Cairns is a great destination in its own right. Live the life of Riley - sustainable luxury. Riley, a Crystalbrook Collection Resort is a fun and eco-friendly waterfront hotel and the perfect base to explore the World Heritage wonders of tropical North Queensland.... Take a Great Barrier Reef cruise for the day and snorkel among world-heritage listed coral gardens, swim with turtles and tropical fish, and soak up the endless turquoise views surrounding spectacular Michaelmas sand cay. Have a cultural experience with a private tour of the tropical north, walk beside an engaging indigenous elder to enjoy unique insights into the local legends of the Dreamtime and the ancient wonders of the Daintree. Take a cruise on the Daintree River for the opportunity to spot crocs and other local wildlife in these untamed tropical surrounds. Complete your tropical North Queensland adventures with a helicopter scenic flight to appreciate the sheer scale and spectacular beauty of both the rainforest and the reef. Spend time in Cairns with the Riley, a Crystalbrook Collection Resort as your base. Relax, Recharge & Reconnect in the Eleme Spa. Rooftop cocktails and share style Mediterranean food at Rocco, nourish your body with a wholesome fare at Greenfields, or take a quick trip to bustling streets of Asia at Paper Crane. There are lots of great restaurants scattered along the Esplanade and waterfront. A popular pick is the eat-ion trawler Prawn Star Cairns moored at the Marlin Marina. I highly recommend renting a car as the easiest way to get around and explore the area. It's a great time to plan a Queensland holiday.
