23.01.2022 With the hope to quit her job ... Trying to find gems! Liz: My first gem-digging trip was when I was 6 months old! Mum and dad packed me up in the car as a baby and went camping for a week out to Tomahawk Creek in Central Queensland - and what we loving remember as the gem fields.... And I’ve been gem digging ever since! Not that I’ve done it for a very long time - but my childhood holidays we spent searching for sapphires with my dad, (mum didn’t love it so much!), sisters and family friends. Our recent trip to Mt Surprise in search of blue topaz - and the fact that I found a big one has reignited red that gem fever
