24.01.2022 Spring is nearly here, hurrah! After a loooooong winter, are you feeling sluggish and in need of an internal Spring Clean, now that the weather is beginning to warm up? Apart from the many health benefits of undertaking a Juice Cleanse at this time of year, here are some other seasonal tips to help you feel more energised, lighter and get firing on all cylinders:... 1. Lemon Water Begin each morning with a glass of warm water and with a squeeze of fresh lemon - this simple step helps alkalise your system, improve digestion and improve liver function (one of your main detoxification organs). 2. Move your body As the weather warms and the days start to get longer, take advantage of the extra sunlight and go for a walk, run or cycle in the fresh air. Get the heart pumping and be mindful of taking deep breaths to draw oxygen in. 3. Dry Skin brushing During the colder months, our lymphatic system becomes sluggish. To help improve lymph flow and circulation, practise daily skin brushing - on dry skin before a shower. 4. Consume a fresh juice each day One of the easiest ways to get a concentrated source of nutrients into your system is through freshly made juice. Include plenty of greens such as celery, cucumber, spinach, kale and parsley. 5. Eat light at night Transitioning into spring, your body will start to crave lighter meals such as salad based dinners. There are literally thousands of combinations of salads you can make (no limp iceberg lettuce necessary), to provide your body with a varied range of nutrients. On a base of mixed greens, pile on some roasted veggies, add some soft avocado, sprinkle on some goats cheese and top with a sprinkling of crunchy seeds. Yum! 6. Get adequate sleep Although we naturally feel more energetic once spring arrives, it is still important to get enough sleep each evening. Of particular importance is the sleep period before midnight, so instead of watching just one more episode of your favourite Netflix series, turn off your devices, have a bath, read a book, then head to bed for a restful night’s sleep. This will then have a positive impact on your energy levels the next morning. @ Cronulla, New South Wales, Australia

21.01.2022 HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU DO A CLEANSE? Whilst everyone has unique health needs and varied circumstances, we like to undertake a Cleanse at least once per season, to help the body ease through the natural internal changes that it goes through with each change in seasons. And although the body has its own systems of detoxification, including the liver and colon; high levels of stress, a diet consisting of processed foods, alcohol and a lack of fresh veggies and fruit, can result in... the body feeling clogged and not functioning at its peak. A seasonal Cleanse can allow the digestive system to take a break, whilst nourishing the body with nutrient rich ingredients that help to heal common health issues such as bloating, poor digestion, inflammation and exhaustion. A longer Cleanse of five to ten days once per season is a great rejuvenation plan for the body, whilst a shorter Cleanse of around 3 days is a good option for an energy boost and to break unhealthy eating (or drinking) habits. Book your beginning of Spring Cleanse soon, and be lifted from the end of winter funk that is so common at this time of year.

21.01.2022 A dragonfruit açai almond mylk is on the menu this afternoon Served extra cold to beat the heat

21.01.2022 What's in your Mylk? Sure, the plant based Mylks on the supermarket shelf are convenient and have a loooong shelf life, but it's worth looking into what they contain, and how on earth they can sit at room temperature for months on end. Many of the supermarket brands only contain around 2% nuts, with added emulsifiers and thickeners (such as carrageenan which has been linked to digestive issues), refined forms of sugar or artificial sweetener, along with synthetically added vi...tamins. These additives ensure a long existence on a pantry shelf, yet the end product is a far cry from the nutritional benefits to be gained from fresh home made nut mylks. Here at Detox Delivered, we make our Mylks with the care with which you'd make yourself at home. We activate the nuts by soaking them in alkaline water overnight. We then blend the nuts along with cinnamon or vanilla bean paste, alkaline water and add Medjool dates for a delicate natural sweetener. To make it silky smooth, we squeeze the Mylk through a muslin bag to produce a creamy and nutritionally superior drink that is delicious on its own, or when combined with frozen fruit, superfood powders, and other nutrient boosting additions. Our range of Nut Mylks are available to order individually or as part of one of our Cleanse programs.

20.01.2022 With the weather warming up and the vines bearing fruit, we thought we would introduce a new summer addition to our popular soup menu. A Spanish Gazpacho style soup made with fresh tomatoes, cucumber, red pepper, onion, garlic, the finest veggie stock and plenty of herb action (and minus the croutons) is what we’re thinking ... served chilled of course Let us know if this is something you’d like to try this summer ...

06.01.2022 Ask any business owner how they manage a work life balance and they’ll likely tell you it’s an ongoing challenge... There is always work to be getting on with; and it’s never far from one’s thoughts. It is still something I’m trying to get better at; so one of my missions has been to spend more time outdoors, and in particular, learning to surf. ... I know I’m a little late to the party on this, however I am quickly realising what the attraction of surfing is, and how addictive it can be It’s definitely an activity of highs and lows - yesterday we surfed next to dolphins under blue skies and this morning I got hit in the back of the head with someone else’s surfboard and got dumped countless times in waves that were beyond my ability and had blue lips by the time I got out But it’s all part of the learning process, and an effective distraction from the long working hours. 04.01.2022 What the heck is Cavolo Nero? This dark green leafy vegetable, also called Black Tuscan kale, is a versatile and highly nutritious brassica vegetable to add to your diet. It is one of the most antioxidant rich foods on the planet - its antioxidants destroy free radicals, which are responsible for ageing and can contribute to many lifestyle related diseases.... It is high in carotenoids, which can particularly improve eye health. Carotenoids have been shown to slow age-related macular degeneration, cataracts and impaired night vision. It is a fantastic plant-based source of calcium (1 cooked 80g portion provides 120mg of calcium). It is also an excellent source of Vitamin K, which maintains strong bones and can prevent dangerous blood clotting. It is high in immune boosting Vitamin C - a super important micronutrient in the virus era. Cavolo nero can be added to juices, smoothies, salads, soups, stir-fries, stews or curries. Find it at your local farmers market and experiment with this green powerhouse veg in your next meal.
