24.01.2022 Welcome to Speech Pathology Week 2020. This year we are celebrating all the ways that speech pathologists can help children and adults to communicate with confidence. Tell us in the comments how you communicate with your family and friends?

24.01.2022 Happy Christmas Develop Team A lovely ending to a big 2020. We were lucky that we got the last weekend to celebrate - this meant we could eat, drink and bow...l all together with glee. Our team have worked really hard this year, coping with changes and decisions which have often changed each few weeks. Tonight is a celebration of how work is such an important part defining who we are. Today it is about the work place, the culture and a few bevvies while competing in the sunshine Love to the team Alison and Sonya

23.01.2022 WE want you, we want you.... Hello speech pathology world We have been delighted with the number of referrals which have come through to our team since launching speech pathology at Develop Therapy. It is truly wonderful being able to provide a team based model for children and adults across the metro area. What this means is that we are looking to expand the team - first there was one, then 3, then 4, now 5 and soon we hope to say 6 speech pathologists in our team. Could no... 6 be you???? we would love to hear from someone who is committed to disability supports and would like to join us alison and sonya xox\ Develop Speech Develop Therapy Services #speechtherapy

23.01.2022 Welcome to 2021 I just wrote a lovely post and facebook crashed, wiping out my story. Perhaps that says it all!!!!!! TAKE 2... HELLO We say goodbye to a few people this year - we have a couple of people off to other experiences, we have a baby to be born, university courses taking up more time, people moving to other parts of the country. We thank staff for their hardwork, particularly for their commitment in the uncertainty of last year. GOOD LUCK We also have new people coming to join us - Therapy Assistants, Speech Pathologists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapist, Admin Assistants. We really look forward to having these people come on board. We also have a couple of people back who have been on leave or on adventures. YEAY. Saying goodbye to therapists is hard, and we are trying to help as much as possible with that. We know SA doesn't quite have enough therapists at the moment and everyone is frustrated. We are really really trying. We have a new space nearly confirmed, which we hope will allow us all to be together, groups, coffee, therapy time in a big space - a different approach. WE even get a tree, which is unheard of on Port Road!! We all hope 2021 is a bit smoother, so lets catch our breath this year and delight in the sunshine. Stay well alison and sonya PS we had after work welcome drinks last week - the food and venue were awesome. didn't get to photograph everyone as i was busy shoving in these tacos alison xxo

07.01.2022 Develop Speech clients your new invoices are communicating closely with you Oh yes, i am getting funnier....... FYI, travel time comes out as a separate line on our new fancy schmancy invoices. It may seem a bit confusing at first but this is the way NDIA need us to do it when we load it to the portal so we are doing it this way for most clients. We all know that travel costs in NDIA is one of those things we would all rather not talk about but we must . The puns continue We have tried to be ethical and moral about travel costs. Basically, if you are metro area we are looking at 10 minutes for everyone. If you are rural we are saying 30 minutes for most people with a few very rural areas at 45 minutes. Remote areas we are talking with you to quote (mmm6-7) We have an assortment of ways this could have been done with the new rules for travel, but we feel this brings everyone together and respects where we live. Remember, if you come to one of our sites there are no charges. The changes are minimal and we want to provide therapy in the most appropriate way for you/your family/loved one. Please talk to us if you have any questions... alison

05.01.2022 Thanks Speech Pathology Australia for this.

03.01.2022 we are aware that there are currently families and individuals who are waiting for speech pathology services from our team - it shows how important communication and participation is that people are seeking supports. apologies to our families who may be waiting, it is stressful. We are all working together to look at options to support families on the journey while waiting for more therapists to join our team. It is exciting times at Develop, and we are very proud of the... way we are growing We often use humour at our workplace to cope, this weeks joke "does anyone have a spare speechie in their backpack" Fingers crossed xxo Alison and Sonya
