25.01.2022 #tbt Discovering hidden paths on Gili Air.

25.01.2022 One of our own affordable living developments in Dianella receiving DA Approval today. Due to the site constraints careful consideration was made to elongate the dwellings and allow for multiple internal courtyards to create light & ventilation areas, which facilitated in maintaining visual connection with the natural environment.

24.01.2022 We are proud to announce that DGK Architects have become brand ambassadors for DABIL. DABIL is the first industry-driven app in Australia which enables architects, builders & designers, to showcase and be acknowledged for new, current and completed projects. DABILs unique search engine brings a greater awareness to potential new clients, unlocking a previously hidden professional and skill based market. We are excited to be supporters of DABIL, and look forward to working closely with them in the future. We thoroughly recommend it to all in this industry.

23.01.2022 Like all industries, the WA architecture industry is suffering from the dire effects of coronavirus. We call upon the WA Government, local governments, universities, schools and private developers to accelerate the first stages of all WA building and construction programs. We encourage the urgent progress of feasibility studies, master planning, concept design, documentation and development approvals to help mitigate potential delays of up to two years to building project ti...melines affected by COVID-19. We are urging the commissioners of architecture to simplify procurement processes, fast track decision-making and bring forward project schedules. The Australian Institute of Architects WA Chapter President Peter Hobbs says now is the time to get projects shovel ready. Failure to fast track public and private projects will have a disastrous impact on WAs building and construction supply chain.

22.01.2022 A sneak peak of our Yallingup Residence. At DGK Architects our objective is not just to produce 3D renders, but believe in contexturalising the surrounding environment. This aids in not only conveying the design intent, but to delve deeper into engaging at an emotional level.

14.01.2022 An illustration of our Japanese influenced outdoor gardens for Winthrop.

14.01.2022 B E A C O N S F I E L D R E S I D E N C E Built on a retained site, this double storey home was designed around the needs of a young growing family, incorporating amenities to allow for a healthy work/life balance, such as a home gym and office. Its location landed itself on the fringe of the Fremantle Industrial Zone. Building upon this we incorporated a selection of these traditional architectural elements into the main facade. The reclaimed exposed brickwork was used to ...create a series of blade walls to create a strong and dramatic entrance to the home. This was further enhanced by a robust material pallet of steel beams, and exposed timber ceilings. The upper floor consists of a skillion roof with timber board cladding to the walls, bringing a more simplified and traditional cottage type feel to the home. 14.01.2022 A versatile response to finding large rocks on site, camouflaging the letter box whilst serving as a sculptural element to the surrounding landscape.

13.01.2022 Keeping to the existing Scandinavian style vernacular, the additions to this home were a double story garage, with car stackers allowing up to 6 cars to be parked via entry from the rear lane way. A new outdoor dining/living areas with connecting bathroom and storage room, and a large lap pool and sun deck area. The existing limestone blocks where used as a base template to create a more natural and organic order to the planter beds.

12.01.2022 One of our earlier works currently in construction. This boutique residence is an adaptation on the Cubism movement. Through restraint, the design demonstrates the seamless integration of simple geometric shapes and plains giving it a strong yet subtle presence.

12.01.2022 The sloping site allowed the built form to maximise views at the higher levels, whilst allowing for an infinity pool at the lower levels without the need for major excavation to the site.

11.01.2022 Completed pool and outdoor dining and living areas

05.01.2022 S C A N D I N A V I A N T O W N H O U S E An affordable living project based within a new land estate development in Cockburn with a 6m wide frontage was inspired by the traditional Scandinavian architectural vernacular. This terrace style home adopts various heritage elements such as curved steel windows, steep pitched gable roofs, exposed timber beams and hanging planting boxes, whilst being expressed in a more contemporary manner. This gave our clients, who had previous...ly lived in Scandinavia an architectural sensibility that reminded them of home.
