23.01.2022 Hello everyone and Happy 2020! Is your washing machine needing a freshen up for the year ahead? Do you experience freshly cleaned washing smelling a bit off if not taken out of machine promptly? Or your machine just smells a bit manky when you open the door? Well here's a tip to get you off on the right foot... For top load washers just put in the bottom of the bowl and for front load washers in your detergent drawer.... 1 cup of bi carb soda and 3 cups of white vinegar (front load washers add vinegar when machine has washed in the bi carb soda) Select a normal wash program and set to warm temp 40-60 drgrees. Let machine cycle through empty and give itself a good clean out. I've recently done my mums machine and today did my own front load washer and its now smelling fresh and clean again. No more stale smells in your washing at the end of cycles. This can and probably needs to be done on a regular basis, once a month or so, to keep your machine from building up horrible sediments and gunk that only makes your machine smell a bit stale. Also check and clean all filters that your machine might have regularly, it all helps. Remember to only use a small amount of the current washing detergents as most of them are still far too sudsy and the soapy residue left behind that the machine cant rinse out just accumulates and goes off. Hope this helps all of our wonderful clients and please share with your friends. Anyone needing any assistance with any of your major home appliances, please call our office and arrange a call, we're here to help. 20.01.2022 Received an interesting washing tip from a customer this week. She swears by it and it seems to have been successful for her in dealing with stains that you make suspect might be stubborn when you find them as you sort your washing out ready to do it. Pouring some white vinegar onto the stain and rubbing the affected material together in your fingers before throwing it into the wash sounds pretty easy to me! Not only environmentally friendly as an option but also cheap! She s...aid when she first tried it at the suggestion of a friend she couldn't believe it as the stains disappeared before her eyes. She also suggested a quick paste of bi-carbonate of soda and some water can also help with older stains that you'd like to try to move. Rub it onto the stain before throwing into the wash also. Have a go yourselves and feel free to leave a comment if you find it worked for you! Or if anyone has any other handy tips you'd like to leave for others in our community, please feel free to do so. Hoping everyone is well The team at Diamond Valley Appliance Service See more

17.01.2022 New Years January Appliance tip. Happy 2019 everyone, we hope you all had a great festive period and enjoyed your breaks if you were lucky enough to have one. Early in the new year we often see a lot of sand etc blocking up filters and drain pumps in our customers washing machines. All the beach towels and camping stuff to be washed can hold quite a bit of sand etc when all piled in together. So a good tip is make sure you shake everything out well before loading your machi...ne. Also check your filters this time of year for those hidden suprises and half the beach thats made the trip home with you. Remove filters and give them a good rinse under the tap. A clean drain pump will improve the results you get considerably when washing. Also note that the current detergents are still very sudsy and really quite concentrated so you wont need as much as you think. Actually using less detergent can give you better results as without excess suds in your machines tank it allows the rinsing cycles to be far more effective. Then consequently your spin cycle can operate to its maximum unhindered. Also, if washing new school uniforms etc, be sure to use a cold water cycle to ensure no colour runs from the new fabrics and no shrinking. We hope this tip gives some of you some assistance in getting everything cleaned and away ready to begin the weekly grind of a busy 2019. 03.01.2022 Hi everyone, winter is here again and we thought we'd remind you all of a few things to get the best performance from your clothes dryers. For all older traditional style dryers check and clean the lint filters regularly, if used a lot then before each new load. The cleaner they are the better and more efficiently they work, therefore saving you time and money. Also ensuring the air intake points are clean and free from fluff and dust. These are often on the rear of the cabi...net.The dryer needs to be able to "breathe" so to speak. Most dryers suck air into the cabinet before passing it over an element and through the drum before exiting it via the exhaust. All stages of this air flow need to be clean and unrestricted. Please check them all before increasing the use of your dryer as we go through winter. Refer to your user manual for more tips on maintaining your dryer. For condenser dryers its the same plus you have a condenser cartridge which must be clean to allow not only air to pass through it but also effectively remove the moisture from the irculating air thereby collecting the water and draining it into the collection drawer or down the drain depending on how its set up. The condenser cartridge is removable via an access panel at the lower front of the dryer. It is best cleaned by rinsing under warm water or if really dirty then hose it down with a garden hose. Most reasonably modern dryers are either condenser or heat pump models and both of these types usually have an extensive array of micro-mesh lint filters that need to remain clean to ensure effective air flow. Sometimes just wiping them down isnt good enough because the mesh is so fine that microdust particles can lodge in the mesh and block the flow of air through it. This can be determined by wiping down the filter and then holding it up to a light source and looking at the mesh itself. Any dark patches or grey patches are where the mesh is completely blocked. It will need to be scrubbed on both sides under warm water with a brush to clean them. Let fully dry before re-installing the filters into the dryer and using. Remember any restriction to air flow through the dryer (including overfilling the drum with washing) will reduce the efficiency and effectiveness of the performance of the dryer. If your dryer is reasonably old and hasnt been serviced in a few years it might be worth calling for a service as lint and fluff builds up over time inside the cabinet of the dryer and in some cases becomes a fire risk. If you detect a burning smell from your dryer then definitely arrange a service and we can clean it out for you. PH 9435 7127 Hope the winter tip helps and finds you all well.
