25.01.2022 Follow the Dream students were invited to attend the annual Dreaming at ECU day at the Mount Lawley Campus on Friday. Students were involved in several activities during the day including an Acknowledgment of Country by Ken Hayward, as well as participate in discussions with Professor Braden Hill, and current students Jarni McGuire and Jye Skinner. Follow the Dream students also had the opportunity to create a sand mural and spend time with Watson the therapy dog.... Students also participated in various workshops which were snapshots of courses being offered by ECU; including Aboriginal Performance, WAAPA Workshop, TV Studio & Weather, Aboriginal Sporting Games, Coding and Design & Technology. Students also had the opportunity to explore the campus and what the university has to offer. The students who attended had an incredibly fun-filled, interesting day and we would like to thank all the staff at ECU Mount Lawley for organising this special event. We would also like to thank our very own Miss Blake for all her hard work in making this happen.

09.01.2022 During Term 2, all our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students had the opportunity to participate in Follow the Dream Health and Wellbeing workshops. These were facilitated by The Follow the Dream Coordinator Talicia Jetta. The workshops focused on promoting positive social and emotional wellbeing by brainstorming and reflecting on their lives and strategizing ways to take control of their own health and wellbeing. Students were able to share their thoughts on key pers...onal and community health issues and given the opportunity to speak about issues which concern them. Follow the Dream tutors were also present to share their own experiences with stress, health and wellbeing. It was great to see how the students have built strong relationships with Talicia, tutors and Coordinators Tina and Karalee.
