SA #APDs: From Wednesday 23 December 2020, masks will no longer be mandatory for people in healthcare settings. This year’s theme is ‘Food Safety it’s in your hands’, which is all about storing and preparing your food safely (including good hand hygiene)! This strategy is one of 16 recommendations in the final report from the Senate Inquiry into food pricing and food security in remote Indigenous communities, which was tabled earlier this week. 18.01.2022 #COVID19 mask requirements for allied health professionals Victorian members: All allied health and primary care practitioners must continue to wear a Tier 1 mask (at minimum) when providing clinical services to patients. With the transition to COVID-safe summer restrictions patients do not need to wear masks when been treated by an allied health or primary care practitioner unless the practice is located within a shopping centre/retail setting. 03.01.2022 #APDs are you putting the finishing touches on your continued professional development (CPD) for 2020? We know it’s been a year unlike any other, and CPD requirements for this year have been adjusted to account for the impacts of #COVID19. This includes completing 20 hours, with no cap on self-study. A quick reminder while you need to be able to produce a record of your CPD for the year, it is no longer a requirement to log your progress in the member portal's CPD tracker. This handy tool is still available for you to use! We’ve got lots planned for next year to help you upskill and keep up to date with the latest in nutrition and dietetics. 02.01.2022 #COVID19 Update for South Australia: The SA Government have advised that the following allied health services may be provided: - allied health services provided by allied health professionals working as essential workers in hospitals providing critical clinical care or as directed by the hospital... - allied health services provided by allied health professionals working in private practice providing care through telehealth and other virtual care options - students, medical/nursing/midwifery/allied health on placement providing essential care in hospitals or through telehealth. - allied health professionals providing mental health services in community settings by telehealth or by face-to-face (but only in the instance of emergency clinical care for potentially life-threatening situations where telehealth is not clinically appropriate).
