23.01.2022 After your baby arrives into the world, they will undergo a number of tests to check their health and identify any issues that may need attention. In the first few hours after birth, your baby’s heart, breathing rate and temperature will be checked. A paediatrician will also examine your baby from head to toe. During the first few days after birth, your baby will undergo:... - monitoring of their feeding, wet nappies and weight - a hearing test - a newborn screening test for rare conditions called the Guthrie test - monitoring for neonatal jaundice - another in-depth review by a paediatrician prior to discharge Undertaking these tests as early as possible ensures that your baby has the best start to life. If you have any questions about these tests or have any concerns, please speak with your obstetrician or midwife. Repost @sjogsubibabies See more

13.01.2022 Today marks the start of NAIDOC Week 2020. This year's artwork is 'Shape of Land' by Noongar and Saibai Islander man, Tyrown Waigana. The piece depicts the Rainbow Serpent coming out of the Dreamtime to create this land. It is represented by the snake and it forms the shape of Australia, which symbolises how it created our lands. The colour from the Rainbow Serpent is reflected on to the figure to display our connection to the Rainbow Serpent, thus our connection to country. ...The overlapping colours on the outside is the Dreamtime. The figure inside the shape of Australia is a representation of Indigenous Australians showing that this country - since the dawn of time - Always Was, Always Will Be Aboriginal Land. There are heaps of NAIDOC Week events happening around the country for the next 7 days. Check them out in your state! #alwayswasalwayswillbe #NAIDOCWeek
