25.01.2022 If you are looking to run a competition, then Instagram is definitely a preferred platform with endless options. The only rule you need to abide by is "You must not inaccurately tag content or encourage users to inaccurately tag content (example: dont encourage people to tag themselves in photos if they arent in the photo)". So with that said, you CAN ... You CAN ask people to like a post You CAN ask people to comment on a post You CAN ask people to tag their friends on a post You CAN ask people to like your page You CAN ask people to share a photo (or graphic you create) You CAN ask people to tag you in a post or story You CAN ask people to use a particular hashtag You CAN ask people to send you a message My advice with all competitions is to Keep It Simple, dont ask people to perform more than 2 tasks!

Loom is a free app, perfect for recording your screen and talking to the camera. A small circle shows your face - this can be adjusted to 3 sizes.... Zoom - if only we bought shares in this app in 2019!!! Zoom is great for recording more than 1 person, record faces or share your screen. iPhones own Screen Recording is easy to use, simply record and all actions taken will be downloaded to a video. 21.01.2022 Niching is a key business strategy that will help SkyRocket your business Its about focusing your business on one area of service or one range of products - becoming the go-to for that offer. Its not only a clear message for your audience, it allows you to focus and grow in that area.... But there are different ways to niche your business. For services based businesses You may choose to focus on one service offering, for example Facebook Advertising or Organic Instagram Growth. OR You may choose to offer all elements of Digital Marketing but within one industry - i.e. Trade. For product based businesses You may choose to sell toys, with a focus on educational toys. OR You choose an audience - e.g. Corporate Mums working full time and have products that would make their lives easier. While niching may seem scary, it actually allows you to focus your energy into growth. AND there is absolutely no reason why you cant expand later. Do you have a niche?

21.01.2022 For those of you lost on how to find your niche, these are 5 steps you can take. 1. What is your passion? What do you love most to do or share - do you have the skills to back this up (consider up skilling if needed) 2. Is their a market for your idea? Ask in Facebook Groups or with your target market (dont ask family and friends if they arent your target market!)... 3. Narrow your niche - chances are you have a business idea but it might be too broad to allow you to get started, consider niching further 4. Check out your competition, how can you compete? (consider niching further if needed) 5. Test and adapt! Once you get started, find your voice, find your audience you may need to adapt and you need to be open to that!

I see so many small businesses taking up way too much of their day trying to think of ideas to post. Instead spend 1 day a month planning and then an hour each week crafting those images and copy. 20.01.2022 I suggest you take a seat before we go into todays topic!! Rather than mentioning how effective Video Marketing can be, lets talk about the options that Instagram offers. All these features are shown perfectly by these Instagram Queens @mumswithhustle @hipstermumsocial @the_social_hub @sociallyem Post Videos... This is the original way to share videos within Instagram - videos up to 1 minute long which show up within your grid. I would say this is now the least used but still a great option if you want to appear within a persons feed. Quick Facts - Square video - 1 minute - Edited style videos Stories Stories are visible by clicking on a persons profile image (that little circle), they can also be saved as an Instagram Highlight which is available just above the grid. Stories are only 15 seconds long, but a longer video can be cut and shown consecutively. Quick Facts - Full phone viewing size - 15 seconds - Non-edited, raw style videos Still with us?. IGTV This is where we are watching longer form videos, up to 1 hour, though they are typically 15 minutes long since that is all that can be uploaded from a mobile device. Used as an explainer style videos or tutorial since they allow more time. Quick Facts - Any viewing size - 1 hour (15min average) - Edited style videos Reels Ok this one is very new and is more about entertainment. Reels are 15 seconds videos (similar to stories) but unlike stories you have more editing options and its more about entertainment. Many have started by uploading TikTok videos while others have been very creative! Quick Facts - Full phone viewing size - 15 seconds - highly edited style videos Something to point out is like all features of a social media platform its about finding whats going to work for your audience rather than trying to do it all! 20.01.2022 One of the more overwhelming part of running a business (which noone really mentions) is communications and customer enquiries. Emails, Facebook business messenger, Facebook personal messenger, Instagram DMs, calls.... Many businesses scream out that they need a better system, however there are some things you can do better.... Firstly, pick your preferred method of communication (if you are well established pick something most used by your customers) and channel your enquiries through that. Ensure your website, your social pages all reflect how you would prefer to be contacted. Secondly those channels - eg Facebook, has amazing systems already in place - you can write notes (only seen by you), mark as done, mark as in progress, mark to follow up. Keep the inbox clean so you dont get confused. Gmail also has this same functionality, the trick is people dont use it - keeping a full inbox is always going to cause clutter in your mind - keep it clean! So pick your weapon and use it to its full potential!

15.01.2022 Like with anything we share, its about understanding WHY! So before we share the marketing tools available on Instagram, we better share WHO is on Instagram. These statistics are from July 2020 - 41% of Australian are on Instagram - The largest percentage of them are women... - Most of them are aged between 18-34 So yes Instagram is a younger demographic than Facebook, but I think the ages here might also surprise some! The most important thing (and we will go into further details this week) is to ALWAYS consider your audience, so if you have an older audience you can absolutely go on Instagram, just remember who your audience is otherwise you might find yourself getting lost on that platform. 10.01.2022 If you have boosted a post and then announced "Facebook Advertising doesnt work" you are not alone - but there is a good reason! Facebook Boosted Posts was originally a way to get an individual post seen by more people. Its a very small element to their advertising platform and in my opinion when used on its own doesnt offer much value. The Facebook Ads Manager platform is targeted at people with medium experience in Social Media and is the same platform used by experts... at marketing agencies around the world. This table explains the key differences between the 2 options. Both options allow you to reach a wider audience, but only Ads Manager allows you to target a very specific audience. Boost allows you to select from - be seen by more, get more comments on your post or receive more messages. Ads Manager has a huge number of options which we will explore later this week such as add to cart. In Ads Manager you can schedule your start and end dates as well as turn off your adverts during select times. Boosting allows you to add an end date. Ads Manager allows you to make changes and adjust your advert, with a boost post you will need to stop and then start a new boost without any learnings from the first. Dont want your advert to appear in the middle of a video - Ads Manager allows you to select where you would like your advert shown A/B Testing - see what copy, what image works best (dont worry we will cover a little about this later this week too). There are many more differences, but I feel these will be the most important to you.

05.01.2022 Exciting News - you can now run a competition on social media where the winner is selected randomly!! For those who have been playing along for years, the regulations in NSW stopped us from running a national competition which did not have an element of chance - that is they needed to do something small in order for the competition to be valid. However these rules have now been lifted and providing you have a prize value of under $3,000 you can run a competition nationally ...where the winner is selected at random. I know many small businesses have been breaking these rules already, but I know it prevented larger businesses from running these styles of competitions. Well be sharing lots more information this week on how to run a successful and legal competition on Facebook and Instagram!

03.01.2022 Loop giveaways are a great way to increase your following. but. - You will find most of these new followers will drop off after the competition ends - You will be mucking around with your target market and therefore the people Instagram recommends to you... - Youll annoy your existing followers with regular posts not relevant to them Its not worth it!! If you are not sure what a Loop Giveaway is, its a competition run by 5-10+ accounts who require you to follow them all in order to enter - some loops will even require you to like 30+ accounts. Rather than a loop, consider teaming up with a single brand that have a similar target market and complimentary service or product offering. You are more likely to get better results this way!
