24.01.2022 Last Sunday we welcomed back this author’s favourite DRC crew. As you can see they’re rowing a bit rougher than our girls, but it won’t be long and things will tidy up. Great to see you guys back too! Ben Salter (Stroke) Rory Johns (Bow) Our girls quad also hit the water too - great seeing Jess Toet in the Cox seat. Welcome Jess!

24.01.2022 Rutherglen 2021-Day 2 What a great finish to the weekend with a win for Alex Salter and Maddy Toet in the Womens C Grade Double Skull

23.01.2022 Reminder: Don’t forget tomorrow (Monday) night’s AGM. We look forward to seeing you there.

21.01.2022 2020 UNOFFICIAL REGATTA REPORT: With the Covid restrictions and necessary guidelines we were sadly unable to have our usual hectic BIG 2 day regatta weekend this year. We were extremely fortunate to have Nagambie Rowing Club visiting for a training camp from Friday to Sunday 13-15 November, so crews from our 2 clubs were for the first time in 8 months able to row beside crews from another club. Saturday night featured a very late delicious pizza banquet and a very happy socia...l event, although crews seemed a little sluggish making it to the Head of the Wimmera start the next day. President Mick Salter served as Referee, field of play, starter, timer, umpire and rescue. Thanks also to the other course umpires for not losing any crews! All 4 crews looked very polished indeed. Fastest Boat: Nagambie F4X- Fastest Boat with Cox: Dimboola F4X+ Fatest M2X-: Nagambie/Dimboola composite Crew who enjoyed the course scenic beauty the most: Nagambie F4X+ Our sincere thanks go to Nagambie for their visit and giving our rowers a great experience in these difficult times! It was a great weekend! See more

21.01.2022 Some short movie footage of Alex Salter and Maddy Toet in their double. The next post will be Freya Colbert in her single. Both boats looking very nice!

20.01.2022 And some movie footage of our current favourite crew - our schoolgirls quad. Maddy Toet (S) Alex Salter (3) Tilly Menzel (2) Freya Colbert (B)... Tori Menzel (Cox) To their great credit this crew has kept training in singles, doubles and now quads after lockdown 1 ended - a marvellous commitment and impressive dedication with no regattas in ready sight for most of that time! We’re now starting to see some extra crews recommence and start in recent weeks ... watch this space. And which parent was so apprehensive about rowing with their child and ceremoniously chose to quickly depart the scene? Have more confidence in our skilled rowers! Fantastic news on Sunday: a future Mum’s quad was discussing training times ... watch this space! See more

18.01.2022 Another well known Dimboola rower adapted from Rowing Victoria’s weekly E-Newsletter Leanne Ambrose commenced her rowing career with the Dimboola Rowing Club 46 years ago. It was there she gained her lifelong passion for rowing. Some years later she moved to Melbourne and joined Banks Rowing club and subsequently MUBC where for the past 33 years she has been a member. As a rower, she has been fortunate to be a representative at both a state and national level on several o...Continue reading

18.01.2022 Rutherglen 2021 - Day 2 Rory Hallinan-Johns Backing up yesterday with another solid win in the U15 male single!

17.01.2022 Last Sunday’s boats were: 2 doubles and 2 singles. With only 3 of the female C grade quad available, they rowed as a double and single. This allowed their cox Tori Menzel to combine with Katie Griffith in a new double. These girls took on a few tips and did the boat start moving nicely - Well done! The C grade quad is now under pressure! A couple of short videos will be in the next post very shortly.

16.01.2022 Rutherglen 2021 - Day 2 Our newest crew competing in the U15 coxed quad; a nice improvement on yesterday, good things to come for these young girls

14.01.2022 Video of same impressive crew you read about in our last post.

13.01.2022 Rutherglen 2021 - Day 2 Another Glorious Morning! Best of luck to all our rowers today

10.01.2022 2020 AGM REPORT: An excellent size group of members was in attendance - the largest for many years. Reports were received from the President and Treasurer. Mick Salter, Jazza, was re-elected as President for the remaining 7 months of the 2020/21 season. Chris Baker was re-elected Secretary.... Peter Hughes was re-elected Treasurer. Maddy Toet was elected as our new Captain, with Alex Salter elected as Vice-captain. These 2 positive young rowers will lead by positive example and are both keen to map out the season ahead. Most committee positions remain the same, with a few follow ups needed. It was great to welcome 2 positive and enthusuastic parents of some of our rowers onto the committee: Dean Toet and Michelle Menzel. We also look forward to seeing u both in a rowing boat ASAP! 01.01.2022 Our current favourite DRC crews: Now that we’ve had some fantastic stories about some of our wonderful rowers and crews from past eras, who we are all so very proud of, here’s some photos and info about all our new favourite rowers. Let’s be perfectly honest, the DRC rowers are all our favourite people in town! These photos and movies are mostly taken by their parents - I hope you all realise just how wonderful we reckon you all are. We are just so grateful and thankful f...or the fantastic support you give your kids - our favourite and fantastic rowers! Please always feel free to have a row yourselves at any time! Ask you know who!? One special fact today: Alex Salter, 3 in the girls quad, and Ben, Stroke in the boys double, are Jazza’s (Michael Salter, our current President) and Jenny’s delightful kids and are 3rd generation DRC rowers (they had no say in it!). They were born 17 and 15 years ago in a birthing boat on the Wimmera River at Dimboola. Their father’s blood is green and gold - we presume theirs is too! Watch this space for more interesting snippets about the DRC! See more
