10.01.2022 It's working! Stay safe? Today’s statewide COVID-19 data for Thursday, 10 September. By comparison: 113 new cases were recorded at the same time time one week ago (3 September)... As of yesterday, the 14-day daily case averages were 74.5 in metropolitan Melbourne and 5 in regional Victoria, the Department of Health and Human Services said. Victoria's road to recovery Regional Victoria could potentially be eased out of restrictions faster than expected if its cases keep dropping at the current rate, Premier Daniel Andrews hinted yesterday.
10.01.2022 It's working! Stay safe? - Victoria's road to recovery Today’s statewide COVID-19 data for Friday, 11 September. By comparison: 81 new cases were recorded at the same time time one week ago (4 September)... THIS IS WHY = Modelling! To help explain the restrictions, I thought I'd share the modelling behind the road map. It was produced by the University of Melbourne and is the result of extensive international collaboration. This is what it shows us: If we eased restrictions with daily case numbers up at 25 (or more), we'd be 62% more likely to go back into lockdown before Christmas. But, if we wait until our average daily cases drops to 5, our chances of returning to lockdown before Christmas reduces to just 3%. Of course, a wide range of scenarios could play out - the surest way to get our numbers down, and look forward to Christmas will family, is for all of us to follow the health advice. Let’s stay the course and get this done Stay Safe - Take Care - And Thank You Regional Victoria could potentially be eased out of restrictions faster than expected if its cases keep dropping at the current rate, Premier Daniel Andrews hinted.

06.01.2022 ? "HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF" ? Old picture of my father addressing a rally during the UNP period 1977. President JR Jayawaradana listening. Lessons to be learnt - The UNP won the largest landslide in Sri Lankan history at the time, taking over half the vote and 140 of the 168 seats, five-sixths of the legislature. Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike had become extraordinarily unpopular, that government had a strong Sinhala nationalist stance. Her economic policies had led to industrial growth and self-reliance, but was insufficient to overcome unemployment. Let me remind you in 1971 my grandfather IMRA Iriyagolla and the Senanayake Government had a humiliating defeat! That Government also undertook massive educational reforms that was unprecedented but it lost in a 1970 landslide to the SLFP
