25.01.2022 Turn the sound up to 11. I can listen to this quokka munch all day. Quokkas, especially the ones on Rottnest Island, arent afraid of people. In fact they often come right up to people... just dont give them human food, it upsets their belly.

19.01.2022 NSW South Coast photographer Aaron Gray has been named a finalist in a major photography prize for this shot of a yellow-tailed black cockatoo at Shoalhaven Heads. The Napier Waller Prize is an award given to photographers who are also former and current Australian Defence Force personnel. "The bird was on an approach to land and was looking directly at me and my camera," he said. "The pose captured reminds me of a phoenix rising from the ashes."... Mr Gray, who is also a Rural Fire Service volunteer who fought fires near Nowra this summer, said his art helped him deal with post-traumatic stress he developed as a result of his military service. 05.01.2022 We all know the song:Never smile at a crocodile, No, you cant get friendly with a crocodile This was not the case with Buca, the friendly croc. It was said you could swim over him and hed never look at you as a meal. Buca sadly passed away yesterday, spending his final months at Koorana Crocodile Farm, having lived almost a century and fathering many babies up until last year. ... It breaks our hearts, he was a legend and to his keepers, a mate. Loved by all, he was an icon. His beautiful nature didnt just catch the eye of his human counterparts, but his girlfriend Bonnie too. His croc partner Bonnie is now mourning his death, and just last year had 56 of his little babies. He is proof, you can smile at a crocodile, this smile is for you Buca.
