21.01.2022 On Friday, Australian off road racing lost one of it's great characters, Nev Taylor. Our heart goes out to Annette, Hayley, Michael, Clayton, Ryan and the Taylor family at this sad time. We are going to miss his infectious smile at the track and the glint in his eye whenever there was whiff of race fuel in the air. It's not going to be the same heading to a national round, which he was a fixture of for as long as I can remember, that's for sure. We first got to know Nev in t...he mid-nineties when he was flying the flag high in Class 4, winning multiple AORC Class 4 titles behind the wheel of his iconic Yokohama Baja. We will never forget watching Nev wheeling the VW to victory over Fabio Zarfati's Class 8 Pajero during the Kings of Kempsey or bringing the capacity crowd to their feet at the Brisbane Ekka Grounds Stadium Race against the trucks. He was never afraid to have a crack that's for sure. Following his passion, Nev leapt from his iconic Baja into the Class 1 Raceco equipped with Porsche power and Kuster Shocks which he piloted to second outright at Kempsey in the late 90's. The Rockstar Jimco, the GET and Tatums followed as Nev and Team Taylor continued to hold their foot flat and chase their dreams. The racing was always a family affair, whether they were lining up alongside Nev in their own buggy, sitting in the navigators seat or supporting from the pits. Family was the thing that Nev held closer to his heart than racing in the dirt. Nev, you will be missed. Race in peace Randall Kilner
