21.01.2022 Hi Everyone, We are on a annual leave break from this Monday 20th July to Tuesday 28th July. We have been trialling the hold your spot system which customers are liking, as so many don’t like to wait, or find it hard to get in. ... How it has been working is simply-: - when you turn up there will be a sheet with times on it . - put your name down on a time . - go have a coffee, get some things done. - then see you back here on your spot held time. - if you are late or can’t make it back, choose or we can help you chose the next available time or another day that suits, as we follow on to the next hair cut to keep everyone on time with what they put down. - if none of that day times suit or there are no more left, pick another day in the week on the sheets we provide . - all this just assures you get in and don’t have to wait . - you can also ring or message without coming down and we can help you out there to, we may not be able to get to the phone every time it rings or messages but will when we have a spare gap. We will not be taking any times down while we are away , untill we return on Wednesday 29th July . 19.01.2022 Just watched an interview of Michael J Fox, he is so amazing, the interviewer said, Michael when you are feeling overwhelmed or struggling what do you do to be ok, he said, find anything to be grateful for and that will keep you going, that is so so true. 18.01.2022 Hi Everyone, The hours have been a bit all over the place with covid and life, and ones I have had for the last 6 years have been hard for customers to remember at times, so this will be the new set hours starting today. Mondays - Closed Tuesday’s - 9.30 to 6.00... Wednesday’s - 9.30 to 6.00 Thursday’s - 9.30 to 7.00 Friday’s - 9.30 to 5.00 Saturday’s - 9.00 to 1.00 Sunday’s - Closed The new system is having a good response and seems to be helping with everyone’s needs with more choice of convenience, In being able to book in, which is good for workers, busy mums with the kids and the elderly. ( bookings taken during business hours, we may not be able to get to the phone right away when busy, but will as soon as we can ) Hold your spot in the day, or choose another day, if you don’t want or don’t have time to wait if you have other things to do, and then come back and walk in on your time without having to cue up again. Or the traditional of walk in and wait at your convenience, ( when two cutters are on we are more able to take walk ins as one of us dose the bookings and the other walk ins ) There are two of us on Thursdays Friday’s and Saturday’s, and will be looking for another staff member soon for Tuesday’s Wednesday’s, and Saturday mornings. We have started extending out famous hot towel experience to the older primary school and high school boys and they are loving it, as traditionally it was for the men but I feel it’s nice for the younger ones to. 18.01.2022 Hi Everyone, just something to keep in mind as a lot of people still equate cars being out the front of the shop or people on the verandah as oh there busy and don’t stop in, we’re to keep in mind the car park out the front supplies parking for all 5 shop frontages here, plus people stopping into the servo at times park here to, and often people out the front of the shop can be a family waiting for one family member to have a hair cut. As we now have choices in place for our... customers we’re you can make an appointment, or if you don’t want to commit to a time you can still walk in and wait at next available spot or put your name down when you arrive if you don’t want to wait and that will hold your place while you have the flexibility to go get some things done you need to, enjoy a coffee at Silverwood Cafe , or have a look around. For example this afternoon Entangled Events have a wedding on which they have such a stunning venue for and we always try and have a sneaky peak when the bride arrives, but customers see cars and go it’s busy. So to keep in mind these things so your not discouraged , there are choices now not just the walk in and wait routine so that you can get in comfortably, on time, with as little wait as possible, and enjoy your hair cut , hot towel, and have a cold beer if you wish . For appointments ring or text during business hours, if we don’t answer right away it’s because we are in the middle of a haircut and we ring back and answer texts as soon as we can. 17.01.2022 Big first day back after holidays, once again adjusting the shop to comply with covid but all in all went really well, even though we all look miserable in the photo we weren’t, lots of laughs today and was great to see our customers and they were just as happy to see us back.

15.01.2022 Something that might lift covid blues or inspire something you have been thinking of doing. When you enjoy what you do, plan and set goals, you get to your destination, I started off in my business with the excitement of my creativity of making something fun and have it entertaining, as that inspiration in what you enjoy, and people around you in your life enjoying it with you, is wonderful, to build something for the future , but also thought well if I’m going to work foreve...r I at least want to enjoy it because I always felt that’s life, I was always going to be working didn’t see there could be another alternative because the norm is we all have to work, that’s what you think in your head because we are all conditioned that way by society, that we all have to work till we are 70 etc etc . But then I said to myself by the time I’m 55 I want to be retired or at least semi retired, I’m close now to that at 51 and very excited how my business has reached a point of giving me better work life balance that is more life balance, All I wanted at this stage in my life was to enjoy it with the one you love doing the fun things life has to offer by working less harder, and enjoying life with them, and continue to enjoy your business. Always follow your ideas of what you envision, when it feels right in your gut don’t ignore it, try and put self doubt aside, don’t give up when it feels to hard, find a solution for every bump, focus on what you want to achieve, stay positive, and you will get there See more

04.01.2022 Hi everyone, introducing you all to Kelly and Stella, Kelly on the right is our new barber to the Dirty Hairy’s Barber Saloon family and Stella on the left is our new tea and tidy girl, you will find Kelly with me all day on Thursdays Fridays and Saturday’s so that there is minimal to no wait time, and Stella on Saturday mornings for extra help to us in making sure you are all looked after. Covid has shown us all individually things that we either need to change in our live...s or need more of in our lives, and there will be some more changes soon with hours, another barber on with me other days in the week also and a system that will benefit our customers and our work life balance also, so will keep you posted .
