DIA has engaged with the NDIA on this matter for a number of months and welcomes this decision. 18.01.2022 DIA ALERT RPMPs TO PROVIDE ABN DETAILS WHEN MAKING CLAIMS From Sunday 25 October 2020, Registered Plan Management Providers will need to include the Australian Business Number (ABN) of providers when submitting a payment claim. DIA has been engaging with the NDIA on this matter to ensure market considerations are recognised.... The myplace provider portal will be updated with: 1 A new column ‘ABN of Support Provider’ in the bulk payment request CSV file; 2 A new ABN field in the single payment request file. ABNs are not mandatory for all businesses, so plan managers will have the option to select an ‘ABN Not Available’ checkbox for single payment requests or leave the field blank for bulk payment requests. DIA has sort clarity from the NDIA and can confirm: The current/old bulk upload template (CSV) will still be accepted for a period of time to allow for RPMPs to transition to the new CSV file. Valid payments from providers without ABNs will not be rejected as a result of this system change. The new Bulk Payment Request template (CSV) can be downloaded from our website, click below. 16.01.2022 DIA ALERT NDIA RELEASES PLAN MANAGEMENT GUIDE Today, 1st October 2020, the NDIS National Disability Insurance Scheme (#ndia) has released the much-awaited Guide to Plan Management.... The NDIA intended this to be a ‘practice guide’, aimed at informing participants, providers of plan management services, and the wider community. The guide must be read given the broad intended audience, noting that much of the language is pitched more towards participants. Disability Intermediaries Australia welcomes the release of information around Plan Management, particularly given the current lack of information provided by the NDIA. It is important to note that this Guide is not and is not intended to be a Plan Management Framework or Policy Setting, which the NDIA has been promising for the past three years. This is likely to frustrate and disappoint many Providers and the Broader Disability Supports Market. As such Providers must read the document as intended as a high-level information product only. Generally, in DIA’s view, the Guide has a fairly narrow or tight view of the service delivery model of Plan Management. The Plan Management market has in many cases has moved beyond the service structure offered within this Guide to facilitate greater flexibility and a more robust service for participants, as such many RPMPs might find this guide a bit lacklustre. As much of the market will be aware, DIA is targeting the development and introduction of Sector based Standards and Accreditation. DIA sees Sector based Standards and Accreditation the critical pathway forward to formalise a robust, quality driven and outcomes focused Plan Management Service. Disability Intermediaries Australia has reviewed each of the key sections of the Guide and unpacked what it means for RPMPs.
