25.01.2022 Throwback to that time I tried to out-quad @karasaundo ......and lost always great to meet a top level athlete and see they are as humble and genuine in person as they seem on TV

23.01.2022 Throwing back to 2 things: 1) Working with the talented @mastermediaphotography 2) Being able to train inside the gym with a barbell instead of using the assault bike everyday #babycomeback

23.01.2022 MUSCLE UP PROGRESSION Here is one from the archives! A key part people miss when learning muscle ups is pulling to their sternum. On rings more specifically, we need to keep those hands close and pull to our sternum to allow us room for the turnover into the dip position. If you don't pull low enough, you can't roll through! -... Sub out your straps on your rings for some resistance bands and go through the motion. As you get stronger, get a thicker band! - Step 1: Pull to sternum Step 2: Roll chest through and trace your hands to the side of your body Step 3: Press down to full lockout of the arms - This is one of my favourite strength builders as it gets harder the further through the movement you go with the elastic nature of the band! 22.01.2022 Here's a throwback Friday Funny for you all. #laughatmypain Couple of things to note: - I DID get the jump after this attempt... - I bruised my tailbone for like a month - They've invented soft plyo boxes since this 51" jump (I think) for anyone who is wondering

21.01.2022 Gunna come out of isolation one of 2 ways

17.01.2022 32.2KM Run - 2 days ago myself and @harleyschmith ran 32.2km with no prior training. - The furthest I've ran prior to this was 14km last year in October-ish and the longest I've ran this year is 5km. ... - This was part of a challenge to do 42.2km in 42hours. We did 1km every hour on the hour for 10hrs from 6pm Friday till 4am Saturday. Had Saturday to rest and recover and decided to do the remaining 32.2km Sunday. - My only fuel was 1 banana and 4 red frog lollies. Water stations were public bubblers along the esplanades we ran along and we walked maybe 100m out of the whole 32.2km. - Would I do this again? Probably not. Am I glad I did it? Absolutely. 16.01.2022 Biological Age vs Chronological Age Society has accepted that as we get older our bodies breakdown making walking sticks and strollers essential. This is and outdated unproductive false truth.... Biomarkers of aging (biological age) indicate where our body is at in a functional capacity regardless of how old we are (chronological age). Compare an 80 year old marathon runner to an 80year old arthritic, stoller reliant pensioner. Same chronological age.....but different functional capacities thus giving a different biological age. This includes but is not limited to range of motion in movements and joints, aerobic capacity, strength relative to bodyweight, balance and more. What you do now in your 20s, 30s, 40s lay the foundation for your 50s, 60s and 70s and beyond. Perfect practice makes perfect performance. Learn how to move correctly now so it is second nature to you in your older years.

15.01.2022 Someone said to me in conversation the other day, and I quote "I didn't expect you to be so strong by the way you look" - If that's not the biggest backhanded compliment ever well then I don't know what it is. But you know what? I fucking love it. - 6 packs are cool, I'm sure having a tan is nice, being swole is ideal for some. ... But so is taking 100kg from the ground and throwing it overhead. So is being able to do 20km on the assault bike. So is being able to do muscle ups and 1 legged squats. Fitness (to me) is not "show me how you look" it is "show me what you can do" - I don't consider training to be a chore, I do it because I love it and feel 'off' when I don't. The progress I've made and the things I can do/lift is a side effect of just doing something that I love. - Own yourself and all your unique traits. This skinny, pasty white, non tattooed boi is just gunna be over here doing his thing - Work hard in silence, let success be your noise. #teamedward #fitnesstruth #cantflexcardio #guzmanygomez See more

14.01.2022 What is 'training'? *PSA: This is for the general population, not sports specific athletes* ------ Trainers have created an illusion of polarity within fitness and training. Most people think it's an all or nothing concept;... I wanna lose weight so I must jam cardio like theres no tomorrow! I wanna put on muscle so cardio is the devil! --- Ask yourself what are you training for? You may be training to lose 10kg but why do you want to lose 10kg? I would guess because mentally and physically you feel sluggish, unhappy and that you are not living to your full potential. --- Just as you need to train for physical AND mental health, a combination of strength & conditioning work willl lead you to a more well rounded level of fitness both physically and mentally. --- Being one sided, close minded is a surefire way to hinder progress and performance and have you looking through a keyhole at fitness when there is a whole wide world of methodologies and approaches to get from A to B. --- Unsure where to start? Message me now for your first step towards TRUE fitness

13.01.2022 When you think you're almost finished your AMRAP and coach says 'Almost halfway!' who knows dat feel?? #worldgymathletics

12.01.2022 THIS is why I do what I do. Meet Paul. He suffers from slight physical and mental disabilities and this can make everyday activities a struggle. Something as simple as standing from a seated position can represent a a physical and mental block for him however most people do this numerous times a day without a 2nd thought. To see Paul comfortably doing this, smiling AND then balancing on his own is a HUGE acheivement not just physically but represents a big mental hurdle bei...ng overcome. Our end goal is to become less dependent on the wheelchair and progress to more independence in everyday activities and using his walker for everyday mobility @worldgymcoomera @michellebeard58

09.01.2022 UNCERTAINTY GENERATES ANXIETY - In these time of crisis our reality of everyday life has been thrown to the wayside. Not having structure to our day can cause a tsunami of emotions we don't even realise. Simple acts like changing put of your pyjamas can trigger a mental shift from unproductive to productive. - Keep living your life as normally as you can to create structure and some semblance of normal. Your mental health will thank you.

09.01.2022 'So tell me Dylan, you have to be super fit and stuff to do a comp right?!' Me: 'Oh yeah it's super tough, really hard work' Also me: *lays down every chance he gets and makes partner do the work* @emilyj.moore @ CrossFit Haapu

03.01.2022 *** Toes 2 Bar *** Little throwback Thursday to helping @jadeybabylemonadey get some toes 2 bar under her belt! - Lucky for me she was already pretty strong so we all we had to focus on was 3 things: 1) Staying in an active hang while on the bar... 2) Starting and controlling the swing with her lats 3) Little bit of ab strength to be able to lift her legs up - We accomplished this in just a few weeks and though she may not look ecstatic she was actually pretty stoked to get them See more

02.01.2022 What goes through your mind when you're hurting? How do you deal with discomfort? - Relative to the gym or to life, how you deal with pain is a reflection of your resilience. - Do you buckle and give up? Do you push through blindly till you're done? Do you stop and assess the best way to move forward?... - My personal motto when it comes to dealing with the pain cave is this: Unless I am physically passed out and I literally cannot muster the strength in my legs to stand....I have more to give. - Apply this to life, business, relationships, anything that gives you trying and testing times and watch your mental resolve harden and sharpen. You always have more. - What's your mantra to get you through tough times? Drop it below! See more
