18.01.2022 Over the last two years Council and the Community, with our partners For the People have worked together to create a true sense of the West Coast represented in... a brand. It has been an amazing process drawing insight from local people and inspiration from our landscape., we can be proud of the work that was done and the brand that the West Coast Council is now steward of. The creation of this brand has also been a massive investment by Council on behalf of the community and it is important that we maximise the use of the investment. Because of this Council has commissioned the design of a new logo. The logo is designed to represent the West Coast, based on the extensive engagement and participation of the community in the branding process. Adopting a logo in alignment with the brand is an important way for Council to champion the use of the brand and to update our identity with everything we learnt through the branding process. For those concerned about cost, as we are, the primary cost of a logo is in the design, but in this case, we are making use of all the work already done on the brand. For implementation, it is our plan to implement slowly, as things need replacing, they will be replaced with the new logo. This means that there will be very minimal cost in implementing the new logo. In fact, it is our expectation that, given the new logo can be used effectively in black, over time the new logo will actually lead to a cost saving for Council. The final design has been done locally, using all the branding work as its basis. We now invite your comments and submissions on the new West Coast Council logo, before we commence the implementation process. Full details of the proposed logo here:http://ow.ly/bRWf50z9v5d Feedback due by 25th April and can be emailed to: [email protected]
