24.01.2022 Australias Su Oh equalled her best finish on the LPGA Tour today finishing one behind Brooke Henderson the winner. She had the lowest round on Saturday with a round of 64 that featured nine birdies against a lone bogey and this morning a bogey-free 66 to finish in a four-way tie for second place. Su said With how Brooke played like the first two rounds, you can go low, so I told myself to go low, but because I was so far behind, I had to go low to be in contention. Luckily..., the greens were soft enough that I could be quite aggressive to straight at pins. It wasn't running too much. But yeah, I mean, I tried my best and I don't know what the situation is out there, but I think I'm going to fall a little short. Oh made five birdies on the front nine and made six straight pars before making her final birdie on No. 16, coming up just short of her first career victory. I felt like on the back nine my putts just, you know, probably the nerves and just got some reads wrong, but holed a bomb on 16, said Oh, who made her birdie putt on No. 16 from 60 feet. That was like the first time I like hit it and I just got goosebumps all down my body. Su was a user of Distinctive Products gear before she turned Pro and we congratulate her on her rise in the LPGA rankings and its only a matter of time before she wins on tour. His tee to green play is amazing and almost the best on tour. He has gone to the long putter again but just can't nail 4 good rounds. Great effort anyway to finish so high. The US Open is a tough gig as you would have seen for those that watched it.

21.01.2022 Congratulations to Minjee Lee on winning the LA Open this morning. She is a real golf talent and I recommend if you have Foxtel you try to watch the ladies golf it is super. As for Minjee she is now No. 2 in the world and with another win or two could be No1 which would be amazing. DPG have been following her in her junior days and in the past has provided her products before she turned professional so we continue to follow her progress as we do all the ladies like Lydia Ko who is another we have supported from the some time and others on the tours all over the world that Distinctive Products has provided some form of assistance in those early days. 21.01.2022 Pernilla Lindberg Winner of the ANA LPGA event known as the 5th Major. I met Pernilla at the Vic Open at 13th Beach earlier in the year as the season kicked off and had a quick chat with her she was fantastic with her time. I also followed her group around the course where she was playing with Cheyenne Woods and Marianne Skarpnord. Pernilla has played close to 200 events worldwide without a win so this is a major achievement. She is a real journey woman playing all over the world at all levels of events and just loves her golf. What makes it some much sweeter is she won it on the 8th playoff hole and beat a world class field. Her final opponent in the play offs was Inbee Park who is the best putter on tour. 18.01.2022 Spent the day down at 13th Beach GC for the 2018 Vic Open. Super day and great golf. Minjee Lee won her second VIC Open and Simon Hawkes his first after a play off hole. A number of European and US Tour Golfers also played the event. Very well run and the fact you can walk the fairways is a treat and even speak to the players while they are playing. More tournaments around the world should take note. Caught up with a number of golfers I support and know which is always good. Look out for your Amateur Tze-Han Lin from Taiwan who is a gun and be on the world tours very soon, she wears the FIT39 gloves and loves them.

16.01.2022 For anyone that missed the Ladies British Open from England over the weekend missed some super golf from all players. It was great golf with some new faces emerging on the scene. The Evian Championships the week before then The Open and this week the Scottish Open it would have been 3 weeks of world class golf. The winner of The Open Hinsko Shibuno her first LPGA event and only 20 years old. Her mental strength over the last few holes as fantastic to see and she did faulte...r at the start of the back nine but made some great puts and that on the last to win was all or nothing when it hit the back of the hole. I would recommend everyone to listen to the post interview it was really refreshing to hear some of the answers Hinsko gave to reporters, nothing censored or scripted just natural and from the heart. Here are a couple of responses, Q: what will you buy yourself with the winners, A: How much did I win?, actually the 1st prize is $675k not a bad first up win. A: was then some sweets. Q: When will you join the LPGA, A: dont know I will go back to Japan to play. Obviously loves playing at home. Q: What were you laughing with your caddie about on the 18th hole, A: I hope I dont shank this second shot. All the reporters in the room all laughed. With Australian Hannah Green winning the US Open last month and Hinsko last week womens golf is in a great place and getting stronger every year. For the amateur golfer watching the women play you learn a lot as their swings and distances are similar to the way we hit. There is no doubt the mens game has gone to another level with the length off the tees it is just crazy but we cant ever play like these guys but we can try. PS. A shout out to a super young Australian talent in Keeley Marx who recently won 5 tournaments in a row, still as a junior she has an amazing future ahead of her and maybe one day will win these events the ladies above have just done. 09.01.2022 Some great golf being played by the LPGA tour recently at The Grange last week for the Australian Open and this week in Thailand with Minjee Lee sharing the lead. Minjee was before she became a professional wearing and using some the DPG gear. This the second instalment of my trip to Bali and playing this time the Bukit Pandawa G&CC. This course has been a previous winner of the Worlds Best Par3 Golf Course. It was really fun every hole was different the longest was over 200 mtes the shortest around the 100 mark. Over water, down hills tight greens I would recommend to everyone if in Bali to give it a go. You go around in a cart with great caddies and it takes less than 3 hours and the round is done. Right on the coast of the island great views of the ocean and surrounding rain forest. Good Golfing enjoy.

In Australia there is limited golf being played with my state of Victoria actually not allowing any golf to be played, and you can’t go surfing, but you can go to the hairdresser for a haircut work that out. Hopefully in 4 weeks the courses maybe back open and we can play as long as social distancing is observed. Like so many clubs, the flags can’t be taken out, the bunker racks aren’t used, the cups are... turned upside down all of which actually speeds up play. 07.01.2022 Hi all have not updated my page with any new courses due to work commitments of late so firstly thanks to everyone for supporting Distinctive Golf and a successful 2019. I have however recently just come back from a quick trip to Asia and played a few courses in Bali, these being the Bali National in the top 100 in Asia and the Bukit Pandawa GCC the first championship Par3 course SE Asia. Both were super with the Par 3 with some great holes. Over the week I will introduce you to both so enjoy.

07.01.2022 A big congratulations to Lucas Herbert who Sunday night won his first professional event at the Omega Dubai Open part of the European Tour on the 2nd playoff hole. Lucas has been on the tour for some years and as everyone knows its a very hard life and a few really make it and even less win events like this. Lucas has a 2 year exemption on the European tour now and climbs the world rankings to around 80. Not bad for a boy from Bendigo. I remember back in December 2015 a f...und raiser was held for Lucas to get enough money together to get him to Q school and start his adventure on the tour. I first met Lucas at the Vic Open which was held at The Heritage back in 2013 and I started to help him fulfill his dreams. Over in the USA Mark Leishman also had success winning the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour. Both guys won on Australia Day. Well done boys great to see Australian Golf on the world stage. 06.01.2022 I headed down to 13th Beach yesterday to see the final round of the ISPS HANDA VIC Open. Can I say the golf was great the atmosphere super, the fact you can walk the fairways with the players get up close listen to the instructions the caddies give the players, the club selections and then watch them hit the ball from a few feet away there is no other tournament in the world that gives you this experience. The playing conditions were very hard, the wind was so strong I would... have thought upwards of 40km per hour. On top of this was the heat which made it difficult playing conditions. That said there were some super scores and the winners of the men’s Min Woo Lee and in the women’s - Hee Young Park played some amazing glove to win. Min Woo won by a couple of shorts and was never really pressured, while in the womens draw there were 8 players up to the last few holes that could have won. In the end it was a 3 way playoff that went to the 3rd playoff hole. The golf in those 3 playoff holes was worth the ticket alone. The pressure the ladies were under with every shot was intense. In the end Hee Young held it together better than the other 2 and got it done and won. Just a great day the crowds were big and the players allowed you up close and have a chat if you wished. Will be going back next year. See more
