The tree roots grew towards the cracked drain pipes in search of moisture and nutrients, forcing their way into the cracks of the stormwater drain and making their home there, resulting in a major drain block. 08.01.2022 Broken drain - go away! After jetting up a blocked drain, we discovered that a part of the drain was cracked and had roots living in it! So we dug the dirt and pavers off; took the broken drain out and replaced it with a new PVC pipe. Covered the pipes with some rocks and dirt, then put back all the pavers.... The stormwater drain pipe was severely damaged so we had to cut out a strip of the concrete patio and pull up some pavers to install a new PVC stormwater drain pipe. After trenching in the new drain and putting a lot of time and hard work, we filled in the concrete and put back down the pavers. Now, it looks good as new! Like nothing happened.
