25.01.2022 A message for spring! Look out for the brochure in the messages below

25.01.2022 Looking at what we do and how we live our lives with the blinkers on doesn't allow us to take in all that we are meant to. I encourge you all to look at life peripherally and you might just find what you were looking for, the whoke time, before your eyes. How we see what we do all depends on the vision we create for ourselves. ... Embrace diversity in all its forms and you may just gain 20/20 vision. DG Jon

24.01.2022 Embrace diversity and together we can change the world!

24.01.2022 Wishing all of my friends around the world and especially here in Australia a wonderful Diwali 2020. Dewali is a time to celebrate and remember all those that may be less fortunate in our world by embracing the light of hope over the darkness without light. I encourage you to light a candle and join with the over 600,000 Australians of Hindu faith to unite us all as one Australian peoples. ... "By embracing diversity, we CAN change the world"

23.01.2022 Wishing all of our Indian Lions and friends all around the world a very happy Independence Day. Although we cannot celebrate together as we would at this time of year, remember each other, the colour and vibrancy of such dynamic and diverse people. Jai ho!... DG Jon

22.01.2022 Embrace diversity, for it can and will change our world.

22.01.2022 Imagine being 75 and you’re sat thinking about your life and how you never went swimming in the ocean on a warm night because your thighs jiggled. Imagine realising you never laughed until you couldn’t breathe because your teeth weren’t straight or white enough. you never embraced the sun on the beach because of the stretch marks on your stomach and your hips. you never allowed yourself to let go and have fun because the pressure to look perfect consumed you. imagine being 7...5 and realising you’ve hidden yourself away for the fear of being real. Imagine realising all the years you wasted hating yourself, but now it’s too late to go swim in the ocean late at night. now it hurts to laugh for more than a few seconds and you’re too weak to travel to the beach. Imagine realising all this time you were perfect the way you were, but now it’s too late to do anything about it. don’t let that happen. live now, as you are. you deserve to realise you’re enough, and always have been, before you’re 75.

17.01.2022 Two days to go! Can I get a few more friends to donate? Lots of little add up quickly.... Thanks to all those that have kindly contributed to the fundraiser so far. Yes the old boy's special day is tomorrow.

17.01.2022 Lions Clubs International have become synonymous for humanitarian service over the 103 years we have operated. Now in over 210 countries around the globe, the level and type of service varies from country to country. It doesn't matter what type of community service you provide, the mere fact that you have thought of someone less fortunate than yourself is what remains important.... A massive thank you to all the 1500+ volunteers, who choose Lions, in District 201N5 but to the other 23,000 odd volunteers in Lions Clubs here in Australia. So sprinkle fairy dust and leave warm fuzzies in someone's life today.

14.01.2022 For most of us, our moral compass is generally correct and guides us in our decision making. Hindsight gives us 20/20 vision. Its easy to be a sheep and follow what the majority says or stands for without understanding or simply caring. Being a shepherd is always harder. Live your life the way you need to and always throw those cats amongst the pigeons. Lead from the front, lead loud but always lead strong.... Change might be challenging and it may be lonely for anlittle while but those sheep will always need a good shepherd.

10.01.2022 Two days to go until we start with our Spring Development sessions. Have you registered? Do your members know we are running these sessions? Again these will be run as "power" sessions. All over and done with in about an hour. Can you spare an hour each Saturday to improve your knowledge and to give you the ability to enhance your clubs profile through the various resources. ... Please spread the word by sharing this post to all of your members in District 201N5. Click on the link below to register or copy this link into a browswer. https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSflHX0gVonyj_2VKH/viewform See you all very soon as we learn something new, but learning differently. DG Jon

10.01.2022 It is with great sadness that i report on the passing of PID Ken Lentfer OAM this morning. PID Ken was a charter member of the Parramatta Lions Club back in 1958. Ken held the position of Distirct Governor, Council Chair and International Director and was very nearly Australia's first International President after making a bid for such but was unsuccessful. ... Ken was an icon and stalwart of the Parramatta LGA until he moved north to Newcastle for a quiter life in his later years. Ken will be remembered fondly as a pioneer in ideas for community service and ways to impact lives in communities less fortunate than ourselves. Fly free mate knowing your job has been completed but your legacy remains strong in the club that you proudly served.

08.01.2022 Leadership Award Club Service Chairs and Leo Club Presidents whose clubs finish among the top 20 clubs in their CA with the highest number of service projects reported through MyLion are eligible for this award. Congrats to both Ted Henebery (Hornsby) and Brian Engert (Berowra) from District 201N5 for being in the top 20% of Constitutional Area VII in service reporting for 2019/20. ... Very proud of your achievements.

07.01.2022 It was great to get back to my home club today. Clean up of the den and then a fellowship bbq all in readiness for more fundraising events into the new year as we transition away from being isolated from each other. Dont get to catch up as often as i thought we may have this year but these moments make you realise that being a DG isn't anything more than what we really do in our own clubs. Welcome to our newest cubs also.

05.01.2022 As we start to come away from the COVID pandemic and start to regain a sensible composure and enter into our new normal, have you thought to realign your "Why"? Discovering your purpose or re-evaluating what you want to achieve into the near and greater future is very important. Take 5, write down some new goals and work out your plan to achieve these and a whole lot more.... Attitude = Altitude!

04.01.2022 We are at a crossroads in the current situation we all face presently. Lets keep it positive, lets keep it energetic and lets focus on what we can accomplish. Remember to smell the roses and most of all, laugh.

02.01.2022 Dont change because there is only 1 you. Live by your moral compass and keep shining bright like the diamonds you all are.

02.01.2022 Why is it so hard to see for any ability to grow, we must also work with upcoming opportunities? You know what I am more tired of than Covid-19. Tired of this ...black and white thing. We all know it has been an issue in the past but it really does not have to be in the future if only we want. Tired of labor vs liberal division, or leadership or rather lack. If the other side of anything is truly right, why hasn’t the last century shown anything Tired of transgender wars. Do we really need to know who you do or don’t! Tired of the language being used and plastered all over. No one is right but no one is wrong either. It is in uncertainty of a pandemic that all affected but no one alive now has experienced, unless you are 122 years old, in conjunction with free flowing elements that any area seeks restrictions to limit casualties. What we are really saying is human life is not sacred, or bad? Tired of this pandemic of ignorance in the limit to speech without offence and any on bandwagon to protest just to cause mass confusion. Not building up but destroy includes all of us Tired of blaming the world for the sins of a FEW. They may be not right but the subsequent actions of all I am not a vegan. Your choice not to eat meat, my choice to eat meat. End of story. Tired if you think history is fault personified. As the saying goes, those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it but also applies to 50 years later, what will your grandchildren say about you and their history when it is researched? I may be only a man, one white man but we are still one race - the human race. That is what essentially makes us all beautiful inside and out. It matters not what external factors or resources you have or do not have, if you cannot handle that fact in itself, there lies the problem. I do not have to agree with everything you believe in, however you will still be my friend. Hopefully So to be a decent homo sapien, is to not only seek but offer love if you want to see it. Kindness is like gravity, not a word. You cannot see the earth mass either but if you personally do not want to be left behind, do more of what you personally want to see. The challenge is not to cling to certainty, nor give in to nihilism but more that if we want something that badly for the future, including our children, challenging OURSELVES to living. Because as we rapidly learn, it is
