24.01.2022 Changes to the Public Activities Direction came into effect from 12.01am today. The changes are only in relation to QR Codes We encourage all sporting clubs a...nd fitness activities with a COVID SafePlan to ensure they are using the QR Code check-in system. The changes highlighted include: People entering a business/place/activity with a COVID SAfe CheckIn QR Code must provide contact details on entry or as soon as reasonably practicable after entry, by scanning or manual entry. Any business/place/activity collecting manual records of entry must ensure that the records are kept in a manner which reduces the risk of them being copied, photographed or used by another person (other than an authorised officer). This means copies must be kept safe and secure and away from the general public. Any business/place/activity collecting manual records of entry must also ensure that details are not copied, photographed or used by a person other than an authorised officer. There's no room for complacency. All current directions and frequently asked questions can be found here http://bit.ly/3djW5LL

23.01.2022 Attention Cleve, SA! A ‘one-stop shop’ is coming to the Cleve Sporting Bodies Club on 23 February to provide support and advice on the drought and other chall...enges for rural Australia, like COVID-19. The event will bring together all levels of government, charities, not-for-profits and ag organisations to support farmers, farm workers and regional communities living through the immediate and longer-term effects of drought. Attendees will also be able to apply for Rotary debit cards to the value of $500 to be spent locally. It’s an excellent opportunity to grab a sausage sandwich, catch up with friends and neighbours and find out what support is available. Don’t miss our guest speaker Mary O’Brien, founder of ‘Are you bogged mate?’, at 6pm. Mary is passionate about breaking down the stigma around mental health with some straight talking that challenges, enlightens and empowers our rural men. Come down to the Sporting Bodies Club between 4pm - 8pm and say hello! 06.01.2022 Since October 2017, there has been a national commitment to move towards consistent warning icons across a range of hazards throughout all Australian states and... territories. The CFS has taken the lead in this national work over the past 3 years, ensuring a robust evidence-based approach to support these changes around the country. From today, the colours and symbology associated with the three warning levels will change to reflect the following: o Advice yellow (formerly blue) o Watch and Act orange (formerly yellow) o Emergency Warning red (has not changed). The new icons will be used to alert and inform the community and emergency service workers about the level of threat from a going incident and will be linked to consistent warning messages and calls to action. By implementing these changes, we can support border communities and those travelling around Australia to understand the level of risk they are faced with in a range of emergency situations, and the actions they need to take to keep themselves safe. CRIIMSON and the CFS Website have been updated to reflect the new warning system and icons. We encourage you to use these new materials in any public facing activities. It is intended that over time, the same style of icons will be consistent across the country for: o Bushfire o Flood o Cyclones o Extreme heat o Extreme weather For more information and to download a fact sheet, visit https://www.cfs.sa.gov.au/warnings-and-/about-cfs-warnings/

03.01.2022 TOTAL FIRE BAN for the WEST COAST, EASTERN EYRE PENINSULA & LOWER EYRE PENINSULA on Friday Fire danger will be SEVERE in these areas. What CAN and CAN...’T you do? A total fire ban means no fires in the open air. ‘Open air’ means anywhere outside, including a deck, balcony, courtyard or park. Includes cities and towns. Runs 12.01am -11.59pm Friday 27 November. Cooking outside is restricted to gas and electric barbecues only, with conditions. No "hot works" like welding or grinding. Penalties apply for breaking the rules. What does ‘SEVERE’ fire danger mean? Expect extremely hot, dry and windy conditions. If a fire starts and takes hold, it will be hard for firefighters to bring under control. Well prepared homes that are actively defended can provide safety. You must be physically and mentally prepared to defend in these conditions. If you are not prepared, leaving bushfire prone areas early in the day is your safest option. See SA Country Fire Service for more information: https://www.cfs.sa.gov.au/bans-and-ratings/
