16.01.2022 The Double Showerhead? Yay or Nay? We say YAY and think there is something INCREDIBLY satisfying about anything symmetrical. This bathroom certainly captivates our inner perfectionist. We are absolutely LOVING the symmetry created here by @alisa_lysandra with the centred freestanding tub, opposing showerheads and black-framed shower screens.

So whilst the traditional definition of KITCHEN is "a room or area where food is prepared and cooked", we think the real definition should be "HEART of the HOME".

05.01.2022 I caught up with Elie from Diverse Building & Construction and they are definitely... Open for Business They are a residential home builder that delivers ...mums & dads what the big name builders struggle with. Tailored homes with high attention to detail. Elie has been in the industry for 8-9yrs and got started through his love of seeing things go from paper to reality. After seeing the struggles and frustrations that some customers had trying to fit their dream into a "standard" home, he decided to create Diverse 2yrs ago, to deliver exactly what the customer wants. They've had a great start to the year and seen a recent increase in new home and renovation enquiries. There has been some adaptions to their in-home service and site work in line with keeping everyone Covid-safe. Elie is most proud of building a business that is focused on service and communication before money. Its a culture he insists flows through the team. Future plans include continuing to grow in the housing market and to stay at a size where they can focus locally and maintain their open communication focus. 04.01.2022 Final handover is always our favourite part of building a house. It's the point at which YOU officially take ownership of your brand new home! So what can you expect to happen during final handover? - You will complete a walkthrough of your property with your builder and have the chance to point our any faults or issues... - You will receive an Occupation Certificate from your builder. This means your new home is suitable for occupation. - Expect to receive warranty certificates for any appliances and finishes, this includes items such electrical works, air conditioning and waterproofing. - MOST importantly, you will receive shiny new keys to your front door! 02.01.2022 To colour or not to colour? @duluxaus We generally recommend selecting a relatively neutral colour for the majority of your internal walls as too much colour can sometimes be overbearing. Lexicon Quarter is a fabulous cool white choice for modern, open-plan spaces. However, colour certainly DOES have a place - think feature walls, front doors, joinery or facade! Colour is an expression of who we are and is fun, expressive and always a conversation starter!

Owner-occupiers must meet the following eligibility criteria: you are a natural person (not a company or trust); you are aged 18 years or older; you are an Australian citizen; you meet one of the following two income caps: $125,000 per annum for an individual applicant based on your 2018-19 tax return or later; or $200,000 per annum for a couple based on both 2018-19 tax returns or later; you enter into a building contract between 4 June 2020 and 31 December 2020 to either: build a new home as a principal place of residence, where the property value does not exceed $750,000; or substantially renovate your existing home as a principal place of residence, where the renovation contract is between $150,000 and $750,000, and where the value of your existing property does not exceed $1.5 million; construction must commence within three months of the contract date. 01.01.2022 Building Terminology 101: Drop Edge Beams A Drop Edge Beam or 'DEB' refers to the edge of a concrete slab that extends from the ground to the top surface of a slab. DEBs are normally required on steep blocks of land that need a significant amount of cut and fill. Extremely steep blocks can require A LOT of concrete to achieve a flat level! ... If a builder only allows for excavation and not DEBs, you can be left with a significant bill at the end of your build. Remember to include this in an initial budget for your build, especially if you have purchased a block of land with a slope.
