24.01.2022 This website refresh was made all the more wonderful with the amazing new images of their products. Ive written about how important good imagery is before in a blog post, and this is so important for ecommerce sites in particular.
24.01.2022 A few tips for anyone planning on hiring a web professional 1. Ask lots of questions be clear on the capability of the website team and make sure it matches your requirements. 2. Have a plan know what you want to achieve from your website e.g quote bookings, seasonal product promotions, to provide education etc.... 3. Be organised have high quality content (images and proofread copy) ready to provide (if possible - it will save you time and money but its not essential). 4. Dedicate some time be prepared to spend a few hours over a couple of weeks to see your website project through as efficiently and effectively as possible. 5. Be clear on deliverables and payment milestones - dont just hand over all the cash upfront and hope for the best. Only pay in stages so that you are not left out of pocket should the project go south. Final tip: Make sure you own your project files (such as logo files that can be used online and in print), and keep a safe record of all your username and passwords to access your site for any future updates and requirements. 24.01.2022 According to Google, 53% of users will abandon a page if it takes more than 3 seconds to load. Were an impatient bunch arent we?! As we custom develop websites with Wordpress (no themes!) and limit the amount of plugins, as well as many other little things we do to optimise your site, you shouldnt experience long loading times. Of course, if youre hosting your website with a bad hosting provider, than your website will take a long time to load. On that note, we are currently reviewing our service with our hosting provider, as we have seen a small decrease in their services this year. If you have noticed any difference in your sites performance, please let us know.

16.01.2022 WooCommerce for WordPress is an incredible platform for ecommerce businesses. It has endless amounts of functionality and customisation options. However, trying to do too much and using too many plugins to add bits of functionality here and there will bloat your site and slow it down. With any major WordPress update, you could also find yourself with a range of new issues to fix. Plugins arent always reliable either - theyre created by third party developers, who sometime...s give up on their plugin so youre left with outdated code and with no support if you run into trouble. If youre serious about your ecommerce business, you need to hire a developer who has the expertise in WooCommerce to help you navigate your setup. 15.01.2022 TBT to when I travelled to the E3 convention in LA. I was working at an agency and managed the Xbox Europe account. Half the time it didnt feel like work as it was so fun to work in the gaming industry! My business partner Andrew and I met working on the Xbox account at this agency, and we couldnt have imagined then that we would be running our own little business 5 years after this photo was taken (just over 9 years ago).

07.01.2022 Many businesses during this pandemic have had to adapt to be more online focussed. Our wholesale client, Studio 7 Dancewear, quickly moved to expand their offering beyond their retail customers, to sell direct to the public online for the first time. Adapting a WooCommerce website from a wholesale only to wholesale AND public retail involved quite a bit of restructuring and reworking, but we had to move swiftly, so with the main part done, we will now be able to work with them on finessing the dual offering in the coming months.

The Hemp Superstore are a unique Australian brand dedicated to selling only the best, most innovative hemp products that are rigorously researched to make sure its ethically sourced and made with respect to both people and the planet. They sell a range of products from candles to skincare, t-shirts, shoes, services and more. We created a custom designed and developed woocommerce website, includi...ng integrations with a bank merchant, shipping providers, facebook and instagram shopping and mailchimp. SEO and security were a given, and we created a newsletter design and distributed their first ever newsletter welcoming their customers. Like with all of our clients, we provide guidance on how to update and manage their website, and whilst its a learning curve for many, its made easier with our custom developed flexible content, which ultimately gives our clients lots of options when creating new content. 01.01.2022 Ciao! We created a simple online shop for Italian boutique retailers Eccellenza - Made In Italy. This was an add-on to their existing WordPress site which required a large software update to enable the latest WooCommerce functionality. A good reminder that you should make updates to your website every now and again so that the next time you want something updated, it wont become a bigger job than you planned.
01.01.2022 Were almost finished for the year here, and with this lovely warm weather and the lasts of everything starting to get ticked off the list, were very much looking forward to a break. Was a very busy end to the year for us, launching 4 new sites in the last month and a half, lots of website updates, design work for business cards, social media and POS, Google Ads campaign updates and a new web design underway! Earlier this month we launched MDXO for an existing client of ours who returned to have her big event site developed by us. Roll on Friday afternoon!
